Thread: Hold Onto Your Hats!
I know it may be hard to believe. I am going for Master Merchant too.....sell stuff. Yes, take a breath. No magic Holo told me to grind threw MM. I am one of the few who are not going Jedi. And want to get my shop, and the people I hang with, on the map.
So I wanted to ask all of the experts some advice.
I know I could have hit "Search". However with the constent patch changes, who knows what works now.
Want to know what is the best way to get to Master? What tiers would you reccomend I hit first? What is the best way to gain Xp?
Any helpful hint, tips, and advice would be greatly apreciated.
Also wanted to say,I have been reading up on this perticular board for a few weeks now. And you all are by far, the nicest people/forum on here. It is so refreshing to come onto the Merchant forums and not listen to people complain about everything. Kudos!
Look forward to hearing, and seeing you all.
Take care.

If you are really interested in selling stuff you take Management I-IV and Advertising I-III first. This gives you 6 vendors (which generate 150 xp per hour --when this is all working properly) and the Global Advertising that will allow you to get your shop on the map and generate foot traffic into your shop. Hiring I is nice too because you get to choose your vendor race and gendor (where appropriate) but it isn't essential to getting your business up and running quickly. I took it last on the latest character I have as a merchant and didn't seem to miss anything from the hiring line. Later the ability to customize the clothes your vendor wears is a nice benefit but again it isn't essential to the job you are trying to do.
The rest is really up to you getting good stuff for the people who come in to buy. There are some really good ideas for generating leads for your new business and Draznar's FAQ has all the information you need about how the profession operates and some of the pitfalls.
The gains for effiency aren't great enough in my opinion to outweigh the tangible benefits of Ad III. But that is just me.

tents, tents, and more tents. I just set up mine after the PC's went live and I have never gotten as much traffic. When PC's really take shape, with small market areas made up completely of these tents, I see this really helping everyone out. My friend went from Business 4 to novice merchant in 2 days with a vendor I let him set up in my tent.
With this in mind, I would say, go up the management tree first, then Eff 4.
