Great idea. /agree.

I mean as Merchants the banks would give us preferential rates.

Personally I don't think there should be ANY charges from banks. I mean, if we don't collect interest for the money in the bank, why should we have to pay bank fees? If you're gonna make it realistic, make it realistic all around.

True. I'd like a loan facility and a credit card then, and I may as well go overdrawn if we are going to be realistic.

There should definitely be a player loan system built into the game. It would be simple to set up a simple contract system wherethere's a loan amount, daily percentage rate, and payoff date. The borrower can deposit money toward the loan at the bank, and they don't pay it off before the payoff date, a player bounty can be put on their head by the lender. This could be make for some fun, I think, and it's consensual PvP. If you don't want to get hunted, don't take out and then fail to pay back loans. I knowI'd have fun being a loan shark.

/nod, that would be awesome, great idea. Rich folk could get richer (isn't that always the case?) by creating in essence a bank. As you say, lending out credits at a %interest of your own choice. Pity we can't tie in loans to property since houses are almost worthless. What fun we could have repossessing someones property lol.

Possiblilities are endless, we could roleplay loan sharks, and hire other pvp players to act as collectors or to 'rough' you up if you don't pay on time.

As merchants, I think we should get discounts on bank tips, perhaps through the efficiency tree.

Non-merchants - Standard 5%

Eff 1 - 4%

Eff 2 - 3%

Eff 3 - 2%

Eff 4 - 1%

Master Merchant - Free

Being the galactic wheelers and dealers, we should have the contacts to wire money more easily than other folks.

I'd be in full support of losing any money on your personwhen you cloned. Don't want to lose it? Keep it in the bank. Bank tip would be used far more often then, removing more money from the economy than it currently does.

Money sinks. There simply aren't enough in the game. And bank-tipping was probably the biggest money sink. (I believe according to the main page, it was bigger than maintenance, and shuttle fees).

With the way it is right now, the economy just keeps growing... and growing... and growing... more and more cash gets put into it, and not much is taken out. All this means is inflation. However, it screws the little guys (new players with little cash) 'cause they are stuck starting out on missions, ranging from 100 - 600 credits a pop.
