For what it's worth, I have been thinking about this for the last few days but I have no idea if this has been suggested before...

How about a new terminal that are in all the cities and can be placed in PC cities that act like a online shopping terminal where players can view the specific items that are on vendors on a specific planet. Of course only Master Merchants would be able to list their vendors on this new terminal.

The idea is basically a combination of the bazaar and planetary map systems. You could even have a galaxy search like the bazaar as well as a planetary listing.

I think it would really help customers find reliable merchants that have what they are looking for and would give some incentave to become a master merchant.

or even just allow master merchants to hook into the main bazaar system. Master dancers/chefs/musicians can place a cantina, master docs a med center, why not master merchants a bazaar terminal?

I highly doubt this would work code-wise. But i like the idea of MMs placing Bazaar terminals in player cities, or vendors DIRECTLY in the world (not in tents, etc...)

The issues with placing bazaar terminals is that items actually sit inside them (like safety deposit boxes) and if the player destroys that terminal, you can't get access to them. Same goes for a civic building version of the bazaar terminal. It is still possible for the city to dissappear with items in the terminal. Too much griefing.

However, there are afew other options:

  1. A terminal that connects to all vendors in the region (area, as defined by the pickup code). No items exist on this terminal, but from this one point of access you can see all the goods for sale in the immediate area. If you purchase from this terminal a player set (or city set) fee is taken out of the purchase as a kind of commission. (Depends on whether you make it a player or civic structure).

  2. Allow a remote hookup to the bazaar system. You can't sell items from this terminal, but you can buy items and then go collect them. This is just a convenience terminal...saves you having to go to a major city to just browse the bazaar. This is probably not as cool an idea as the first one.

  3. Allow the vendors to hook directly into the bazaar system, and give bazaar browsers a switch where they can turn on/off vendor inclusion in their lists.
