There's tons of suggestions in this forum, but most have a huge point:

FIX THE BAZAAR.

If the bazaar worked properly, lots of people wouldn't need vendors, and you'd have a lot more happy people.

Fix the interface.

Fix the item limit.

Fix the delivery mechanism (paying 100cr to post an item, should deliver the item to the person, not require pickup)

Or, like EQ, make people able to go into 'merchant mode', and be able to go afk and sell things, acting as a vendor.

Lots of solutions. Don't choose the easiest and then declare 'FIXED AND DONE' like so many times before.... please.

The Bazaar isn't broken. Sure, the interface could be improved, but your other two suggestions do the same thing we have now - allow people to play merchant without spending the points.

What incentive is there to be a merchant if you can post 100 or 500 things on the bazaar? What kind of interface would YOU propose to manage 5 million items on the bazaar?

You want to sell items for a living? Become the SELLER class. That means spending the points for Merchant. Why everyone thinks they should be able to sell as many items as they want in an automated fashion for no skill points when there's a class that is specificially designed to do that is beyond me.

To be quite honest, ive always believed that the bazzaar IS BROKEN. What kind of bazaar do u know of that has limit on how much u can sell something for in the real world? 6k is WAY too low to have sensible people even THINK about putting something worthwhile on there. I picked up a Power Hammer that matched my friends. He spent 350k from a vendor to get that hammer. I spent 6. Do you honestly think thats fair?

I'm missing how you paying 6k for a PH is an indicator the bazaar is broken.

Did your friend pay too much for a mediocre PH or did you get a fantastic deal for a good PH? I have no idea and neither conclusion says anything at all about the bazaar system.

If you want to compare SWG to real life, tell me:

1) Do you buy your jeans directly from Levi?

2) Do you buy your Thanksgiving turkey directly from the farmer?

3) Do you buy your mayonaise directly from Kraft?

4) Do you buy your case of soda directly from Coca-Cola?

Of course not - you buy them from people who sell things for a living - Merchants. No reason things should be different in SWG.

Real merchants are "middle-men"

I never hear about anyone looking to buy stuff in bulk at a discount and then mark it up to make their profit like in the real world.

Almost every person i know that has merchant has the crafting profession as well.

If they want to fix this-

1)Uncap the prices on the bazzar

2) Triple or quadrupile how many things you can sell

3)Make it so that you pay a % when the item sells not the 100 credits when you put it up for sale.

That way only the people that want to sell huge quanties and be the millionaires and the people that just like making stuff to support their game play style can use the bazzar as their means of selling.

I would love it if i could just make crates of armor and then sell them to a merchant for a set price and then just let him mark it up and not have to worry about selling it to the general public.

Im missing how u cant conclude that if someone had to pay 350k for a PH, it should be a great one, not a good one.

And if u still cant get it, his was a great one, and i bought a PH that matched his.

My point with bazaar being broken is that some people use it to get rid of of things (great and not) just to get a quick 6k cause they dont need it anymore. Its detracting from the merchants who sell their wears according to what people SHOULD pay for it. I got really lucky finding that PH for 6k. And it was all because somebody just didnt want or need it anymore. How do u think the Weaponsmith who sells PH's for that much would feel if i told him my story?

1) How do u think Levi would feel if a friend had jeans he didnt fit in anymoreand wanted to sell to me for a dollar?

2) How do u think the farmer would feel to know i got his turkey for free from a give-away?

3), 4) How do u think Kraft and Coca-Cola would feel if they're merchant had a buy 1 get 2 free deal that was not supported by their company?

Please. They would feel like they have all lost buisness. If the bazzaar had a higher limit on its selling price range i probably would have spent a lot more on that PH. At least then id know i was properly paying for something and not cheating a honest merchant just selling his stuff.
