Thread: Merchant Nerf, just another way to say this game offers too much variety

Given the upcoming merchant nerf, I'd say people can say goodbye to single pieces of armor, anything not in a crate, small resource lots (unless they're really expensive and sure sellers), goodbye to anything not guaranteed to sell being offered for sale on any vendor.

Yes, I'm looking forward to a world with 80% of vendors selling stun batons, composite and ubese armor (full suits only, unexaminable in bags) , 100k resource blocks, crates of 25 vasarian brandies and canape.

And that's it. Maybe a few more things. Mostly sold on the big bulky atm vendors in peoples houses. Or by not-afk spammers sitting in coronet or theed by the bank, selling the old fashioned EC way.

My god, it'll be beautiful.

No seriously, I've been thinking about this. This patch has basically two effects: 1) The item caps, which are low. 2) People who aren't merchants not being able to keep their vendors.

See a problem? There won't be enough space for selling stuff anymore. Most people don't want merchant enough to spend the points on it (if they did, merchants wouldn't want non merchants to lose their vendors). My fear is most vendors (my guess is around 60-80%) are going to disappear slowly after publish 10.

The remaining vendors will be run by merchants suddenly flooded with requests from multiple crafters, and while I don't know the ratio of merchants to crafters, but I guess it's worse than 1:10, meaning that merchants will simply not have room for all the lesser known, lesser desired items in the game.

Now I guess I'll be a jedi that's unable to call his beloved pets from his datapad.
Make it so we can trade our pets in for callable ones, or at least deeds so we can put them in our houses and /cry! (lol)

If I give up swordsmen should i still be able to use my power hammer?

Merchant=Vendors

No merchant skills=No vendors.
