Flames invited. It is about time in my opinion for those who are not master merchants to understand what it is to be and stay a master merchant. The method they are using is great. What this will do is force the master Armorsmith/weaponsmiths to come to the Master merchant to vend his items...as it should be. If you want to buy a toaster you dont go to the toaster store. You go Value City or something similar. And this is what is going to happen....it may even force vendors to concentrate in single areas so that it is easier to find items. This will benefit player cities....every Tom **edit** and Harry won't be vending. Which means that vendors will be getting paid for being Master Merchants....imagine that....getting paid as a profession just like doctors and all of the smiths. There should be something golden about hanging onto Master Merchant because it is one Boring profession. You don't get credit for mastering Pistol after you drop it...why should you get credit for being a master merchant after you drop it....one of the first times i have EVER agreed with a change....but I do believe this will fix this profession......it is already broke.

Even Value City has more than 110 items on their shelves. I advocate removal of empty vendors and disallowing people to keep more vendors than the SP currently invested. But the vendor cap is unbearable. Too many crafting professions (think Tailor) have a large variety of wares, and if they only stock 1 of each kind it fills more than a page. Remove the cap or set it 500 or 1000 and that is workable. Remove the abilities for somebody with merely novice artisan to keep 5 vendors stocked. But don't make people restock their vendors multiple times a day for those who have invested the points. That's too much.
