ok first off i think its really awsome that everybody here is stepping up to challege the devs, and i for one as with everybody else hate this idea, but really i can see how now the devs are just starting to care about their money

less items on venders = smalller database needed = fatter wallet for the pathetic devs

do the devs even play this game? i mean any **edit** with half a nut for a brain knows this willl affect the game in negative ways.

this is soo crap and if it isnt changed then im going to cuss on the forums and the game till my account is banned

Well for the 17+ dollars (much more for people with multiple accounts) wouldn't you think they would increase the database? I know exactly what they are doing. Ironic that JLT is coming out the same time EQ2 is.

The flaw in this logic though is all those vendor based items are all going to move into newly placed houses.

Instead of using vendors that load from a different area... all the items currently on vendors will be moved to homes/factories on the live database.

I will need to place aprox 60 homes jsut to cover my overstock if the new limits are implemented... if the arverage joe only has to putdown 10-15 and you multiple that by the number of crafters... the entire "live" database might just go boom.

Hum yeah, not to mention that people actually often get tons of items deleted for not taking care of of their vendors...because I guess it just isn't fun enough...

One problem with this theory.. Many folks have already said this change would cause them to quit the game (there are a few threads already on who plans to quit if this is implemented). And at the cheapest price structure (12/month when paying for 6 months at a time), if just 25 crafters quit per galaxy with an average of 2 accounts each (many have more), this is a loss of revenue to SOE of $15,000/month. Now I don't think that an anual revenue loss of $180,000 would translate very well into raises for the developers.. probably would be staff cuts...

There's nothing wrong with the database, it's just managed poorly. To wit, the first purge of stale data won't occur until the game has been running for about 15 months. I think it's pretty safe to say it will decrease by half after the purge. This is no longer a 300k player game, far from it.

If its a database thing why don't they just increase the stack size on minerals etc to 999k, this would probably help allot.
