just an fyi:
In the friday feature about the sorosuub, th confirmed that we will not be able to place vendors on ships.

Yea that wasn't a surprise to me..moving vendors is bad for the database
One day I hope we can get them to give us a Vendor Droid Interface that will communicate with an existing vendor. This is a huge technical challenge apparently though.

I don't believe this has anything to do with "database" issues. Its more of the way objects work in the game.

I would rather say: Building a game with a good database (Oracle is very good) but a bad design is bad for the game.
There are so many things devs could do to save database space instead of just putting up new limits. Raising size of resource stacks or factory crates is one thing but that is a policy decision not to do (because of SOEs views on how to limit monopolies, a view which I think is totally wrong but that is another story). However what they could do is to make it possible to stack looted identical items. I got lots of krayt tissues, agents, cubes etc which if treated as a stack would save a lot of space. heck I got one house just filled with agents and cubes (and that is far from enough).
