Thread: Selling items on a vendor for non-merchant guildmates

I have seen discussion of consignment sales but the questions I have are not answered there. I have a resource vendor placed and am taking offers from guildmates who would like to sell harvested resources such as hide, bone, meat to sell there. Some might also want to sell other mined/harvested resources and I think it would be a service to have a vendor where people can essentially exchange these goods. What is fair pricing? How much should I figure in for my costs? Thinkingas a crafter who is looking for particular resource qualitiesI came up with this rough guide for resource pricing but again it doesnt figure in mycosts:

Resources with anystats over 900 6cpu

stats600-800 3 cpu

stats 500-700 2 cpu

stats 100-400 1 cpu

Also, if I were to sell other goods on a separate vendor, using pharmaceuticals as the example, if the doctor/ cm wants to sell a stim b pack for say 1500 credits how much should I add on for selling the item on their behalf?

It seems to me the natural job of a merchant class would be to do just this sort of thing, sell on behalf of the crafters and hunters etc who do not have the merchant skills themselves. If this has all been hashed out on another thread please forgive and direct my question there.

For now the only way of having 'private sales' is to use a building with a high entry fee, with access to the people of your guild. Some people sometimes pay the entry fee by mistake so beware. That's if you want only your guildmates to access them so they get a reduced cost.

Otherwise, I have sold items for guildmates but I usually don't take anything for me, if you want to do that just agree with your guildmate on a price, I would think 10% or so seems right.

As a Merchant I always pay for goods upfront. Some of the stuff I sold on the bazaar to drum up captiol but I find it easier to pay upfront for goods. Now if you dont have the capital for large purchases, you can see if your crafter will take 50/50. 50% up front with 50% delivered after the items have sold. Understand that as a merchant part of your overhead is going to be items that NEVER sell. Very true in the retail business.
