Thread: Vendor Order How and Why?
Greetings,
I'm a Master Merchant and I log in every day at 8am to register my vendors. More often than not I'm the first one to register them. I log back in the evening to see who is on the map and see my vendors dispersed and often lower down in the order. What criteria is used for the ordering of these vendors and why?
It isn't based on when you register
It isn't based on your level of skill relative to others who register
It isn't based on alphabetical order
From what I can tell it isn't even based on when the vendor was created.
This shouldn't be based on the date of creation. Should a vendor that moves from a small to medium to large house as they grow in success be punished for their success? I think not. Should a dabbler of the profession have a prominent spot over a Master just because they are still setup in a run down shack? Doesn't make sense.
In writing this I'm not sure I know the best option. The one thing that comes to my mind is to be able to bid for prominence on the list. As they have been growing to be rather long there is the need to be able to add some sort of sanity and fairness to how they are setup.

Most of us are leaning to either distance from person checking or random for when thisno longer needs daily reseting. How it works now???
Someone want to research this? It will take me a week or two to get a chance.
I only ran a very small test, buton the surface it lookslike the initialization time of the vendor is what matters. Here's what I did:
- Created vendor A at my house terminal
- Created vendor B at my house terminal
- Dropped vendor A
- Dropped vendor B
- Initialized vendor B
- Initialized vendor A
- Registered vendor A
- Registered vendor B
After checking the map, vendor B appeared before vendor A.
I don't think any definite conclusions can be drawn from a small test like this one, butit looks like it could be a possible explanation.
i allways thought it was in register order, I don't think it is distance cause mine are rarely first even though I am standing at the vendor.
It's not register order, I continually register first or close to first each day, but when I check at night, my listing is several down the list.
Also, there is one person who is now listing all her specifically named vendors in my category, but it seems that one of her vendors gets near the top, and the rest of her vendors get pushed down to the bottom after everyone else registers after. So it seems they jiggled that to address the issue of thosethat register every vendor they have.
