Thread: Fast Track to Master Merchant?

What's the quickest path to Master Merchant? I am thinking going up the Management Tree first then fill in the rest. Is there anyway to gain more merchant XP other than per vendor XP and vendor views?

The reason I am doing Master Merchant is because my holocron told me to...lol.

Any tips would be appreciated! Thanks!

Start working the management column first. The more vendors you put down the more XP you get.

Aften that doesn't really matter what column order you work. But if you harvest work Efficiency column second.

Draznar's FAQ has great advice, read it if you haven't.

Find something, ANYTHING, that will really sell. Players must want something you offer bad enough to come visit you away from town.

**You can "power level" this by selling desired items for a loss, if you have the credits to back it up.

Setup a shop in a high traffic area. Look for commonly used paths to dungeons/parks.

**You can "power level" this by joining a "mall" and placing a vendor(s) there, if you are selling what the Mall Manager is looking for.

Management I-IV, place all vendors. Terminal/droid vendors cost more maintenance currently than NPCs, based on stock price. But they deliver more consistant MEXP in certain cases.

**If you don't have sufficent stock to justify more vendors, place them in a back room of your house or use them to "dress-up" your shop for amusement. They seem to give the same hourly MEXP no matter if they have one useless item or 300 PSGs.

Advertising I-III - Get on the map!

** Once you also get Efficiency II, NPC vendors seem to give poorer MEXP unless they are listed on the map. Map listings also help your popularity chances.

Efficiency & Hiring don't directly affect MEXP for fast track. They are of benefit only if you are counting credits, or like to amuse customers and think one type is a bigger draw than another. At this point the novelty has worn off, players will buy from anything clearly marked as a vendor of goods they want.

Tips to fast track:

Vendor missions: Build a house close to a popular starter town, fill the vendors with 1 credit cheap food you made/buy, and advertise in town with an offer to /tip anyone X amount if they go to your shop and return to you with said items. It costs alot to do this, and is only effective if the round trip is longer than 15 minutes )

Lonely Millionare's House Party: throw a party in your house with vendors stocked with party goods, hire a band, dancersand trained animals. Odds are, you will have to hire the party goers themselves too, but hey, you are rich and wanted to power level.

Put a vendor in a good buddies artisan house, and have them frequently click on them and refresh, or even better offer your vendor made goods for resale. Hope they are really good friends who like to stay at home and craft.

Trailor: take a house with you on adventures with friends, plop it down like a camp anytime you get a chance and make it public with 1cr entry fee. Entry Fee's earn MEXP. This only works if you are with friends/PA and in place long enough to make use of it multiple times. Note that Entry Fees on your structure in any situation besides friends or wildly popular items will dramatically cut down on customers. Most folks won't pay a dime.

Trailor Park: take a house with you when setting multiple harvestors together on primary planets or on any really popular resource. Put the house right on the resource next to the harvesetors and name it clearly "Selling Resource X".Put a vendor in the house named the same thing, and plop it on the map too. As your harvestors gather the resource, put it on the vendor at as close to cost as you can. Many, MANY people are looking for a specific resource, and when their survey tool takes them to the same spot you are at, they are very likely to put up harverstors and buy more of that specific resource IF THE PRICE IS CLOSE ENOUGH TO THEIR COST to make it attractive. Think of this as "renting harvestor lots" in a way. This only works on really popular resources, and only works over a few days if you actually keep the vendor stocked with the resource you are mining to promote return customers.

Thank you for the tip.

Here is my question... there is a timer on Browsing per person on the vendors.

Is there a timer for the entrance fee per person?
