Thread: How to Create a Mall
First off - my apologies if this has already been posted, did a search but couldn't find anything usefull on this.
We're trying to start a mall, I'm a Master Architect with Merchant skills, we built a large house, dropped it, but we don't seem to have vendor access control - I thought we had this awhile back but I don't know..
If we want to create a house with different player vendors - do I have to set up the players up as admin?
Any advice or link anyone could give to this tired, weary, befuddled player on how to start a mall would be hugely appreciated.
Thks

Pete,
First, the house has to be public. If it isn't yet, make it so - vendors can't be dropped in a house that is private anymore. Second, all of your merchants need to be added to the admin list. I recommend keeping them on the list in case problems arise with the vendors when you are not online (ie the vendor magically poofs... it's happened before, many times)
Here's a good way to set up a mall:
Each person you want selling a different type of good, should have at least Novice Merchant. Why? Well, until they put in the fixed maintenance, NPC vendors are the cheapest to maintain right now, and they can bark ads if any of your Merchants have Ad III.
With each crafter handling their own vendor, they can manage their own sales and stock, and there is no confusion as to where the money is (or is not) going. They are responsible for their own vendor, and since it's their wares they are selling, they are more likely to take that responsibility seriously.
If you are looking for an aesthetic option, you can create a simple sales counter out of novice level 'chest' using rotate 1 - 360 and move 1 - 50.
Thanks Diggles, SilakDar
Much appreciated!
