In response to number 6.

a) Target Said giant paw.

b)Do /whomaster (or whatever the command list)

c) Congratulate said CH / Droid Owneron adding himself to your structure ban list..

Easy.

For RP purposes, set up a vendor directly inside the door, who has customised ad barking - set it to say "please leave your pets and droids at the door.." - Most people would repect the time and effort you put into setting that up and respect it..

I've actually given thought to cantinas in game. And have come to the conclusion that, as merchants will likely get the ability to place banks and bazaars with player cities, musicians and dancers should have rights to placing gambling stations... it really fits the entertainer lifestyle and it'll throw them a bone, after all they really got nothin besides playin music and dancin.

I'm starting up a niche cantina and a few ideas have come to mind:

1. Money lending - at some skill level, why not allow merchants to install money lending stations in their shops? For role playing value, they could be tied to NPC criminal syndicates e.g. money lending stations on Tatooine would be run by Jabba the Hutt. A merchant hosting a money lending station would get a piece of the action when payments were made.

2. Customizable access fees - I will have a cover charge as well as PC employees. I think it would be good to be able to exempt certain PCs (employees, VIP customers, etc) from the cover charge.

3. Ambient music - I think it would be nice to have ambient music like in the NPC cantinas in town.

4. Gambling stations - I understand that some sort of gambling is being tested on Test Server. What's the ETA of gambling on the other servers?

5. NPC vendors - for the love of Pete, can we find a way to customize their appearances? Mine are all obese, wrinkled grannies, or both. This is not the look I am seeking for my nightclub.

6. Real droid/pet detectors - it would be nice to have some way to keep people from whipping out droids and pets inside my shop. This is a small Tatooine house and it's hard to serve drinks or heal people when half the room is hidden under a giant paw.

That's all that comes to mind for now. I'm sure I will think of a few more things as opening night draws nearer.

- Running a cantina was my first grand idea as soon as I heard there was going to be a SW MMO. It was also the first hope to be dashed against the gritty Tatooine sandstone.

- Until player cities come out, running a cantina is a completely lost cause. We have houses, not bars. You can listen to a musician or watch a dancer, but there's no functionality for a medical room (like the tavern in Anchorhead). No music, no lighting, no appropriate furniture. Additionally, cantinas in developer-made towns don't even get any money spent in them except the odd tip to an overworked and bored dancer/musician.

- Now don't get me wrong, cantinas would be GREAT. But we need the whole player city also: a hospital, a guild hall with trainers, a mall (or shops), and banking terminals (perhaps linked to the guild that owns the town... you pay a small fee to open an account). A lone cantina out in the middle of the desert isn't going to attract any people, especially if you can't begin as a newbie at this town.

I'm not sure what "no functionality for a medical room" means. Wounds can be healed in a PC house by medics. I also think I have done a nice job furnishing my place:

There is also a VIP room in the back with a large bed and other luxuries. The layout of the shop is very similar to what you would see in a Japanese hostess bar.

I've been making a very tidy profit just on the spices and other items I sell in my vendors, and I haven't even officially opened for business yet.

Well, I'm located in a PA area. I think I will continue to increase my profits because I am catering to a niche market. This is a shop for Corbantis's considerable Japanese player base, and their reception has been very favorable so far.

if we can program songs on cellphones...i know SOE can program one into the game. Get musicians to make songs, then sell them like draft schematics for production by someone with a lot of cash (producer aka merchant) theres ambient music if we got a jukebox or something

and buying + selling music.....aka famous muscians is a cool idea
