Thread: What planet and area is the best for a new vendor to be placed?

I wish there was a poll option available, probably is, just not bothering to look.

My guesses are that Naboo and Corellia are the best planets

with Theed and Coronet respectively, the areas

Probably Coronet first cause of its centreal hub location.

Does anyone agree or disagree with this?

I agree on the previous topic that spamming is overwhelming although it appears useful from time to time.

My favorite way to find vendors is just to drive outside Coronet and with the map on to see what vendors are there while mostly ignoring the spam in a heavy populated area tobegin with.

Any way, I'm currently in a location outside Mos Entha in Tatooine and although it hasnt been really that bad for business, I feel that I have crafted enough items to really handle a larger supply of people.

Would you say placing a tent in Coronet a good idea?

Thanks

HistoricallyTheed and Coronet were two biggest concentrations of vendors.

I've never had a vendor near Theed, but I have had them around: Coronet, Bestine, Tyrena, and Mining Outpost - Dant. And the vendors near Coronet traditionally do better business.

I would think it would depend alot on what you have to sell.

Do some research in the areas and see what the competition is like. Are others selling similar products? Will you be able to compete with these already established vendors? Can you place a house or tent within a reasonable distance from the city in question?

Also don't forget Mos Eisley. At least on my server (Starsider), Mos Eisley is very busy. Land outside the city is also reasonably available. A business outside of Eisley can do very wellespecially if you plan to sell items the new players would llike to purchase. Also Lok near Nym's with the CU and gurk groups as become very busy. A business selling things the warrior might need (weapons, armor, food, spice, etc) would do well there.

With the vendor search option I believe that being close to a major starport and being reasonably priced (not necessarily the cheapest) are the two most import factors in a successful business venture.

Good luck.

Coronet is the best, by far, outskirts would be the best. However Theed is falling behind, and Mos Eisely is definitely catcjimg up. Player cities aren't bad, but only when the city has a shuttleport. Sometimes there are player cities right next to outposts on Dantooine, which is an excellent place ti put a vendor.

Very much depends on your server. On Scylla for example most vendors are in few selected player cities - most of them actually in one big city on Tatooine - which developed into a big economic hub- other servers its Coronet, other servers its Theed.

Please offer all my auction winnings to my vendor at xxxx xxxx (TBA)

On Eclipse, I've had shops outside of both Coronet and Theed. However, at least on our server, Coronet has died for the most part. I didn't even encounter more than one person spamming there the last time i had to pick something up.

I find thatour player city (right outside the krayt hunting grounds) does VERY good business for all our crafters. I believe that outside the MOP is also a great place for weapons, foods, armor, etc. At least on eclipse, the MOP is the new Coronet.

Shadowfire too. Coronet is dead. The Mining Outpost is where everyone hangs out. Theed is pretty good too. But if there's a player city known for being the server's shopping mall, then that may be the best place.

My merchant alt has a vendor tent in the "front row", 352m from the north gate of the mining outpost on Dantooine, and it's SMOKING. I can barely keep stock. Just closed all my Theed vendors and moved the stock up to Dant, and placed a house and some factories to keep things available.

I have my Shipwright store placed just outside the main gate of the Rebel Outpost on Rori. The shop is visible from the base, and I use NPC actors and perks (like an X-Wing or a Lambda Shuttle to draw people over)..because a X-Wing parked between the main gate of the Rebel Outpost and the next ridge where my shop is, is a total magnet for the curious. I also have the NPC actor dressed up in a flight suit waxing on about how great my shop is and that he just tricked out his X-WIng.

I could care less about putting shops into the urban sprawl surrounding Theed & Coronet. Im operating a Rebel shipyard, so proximity to a Rebel Outpost is needed, and I cater to Crimson Phoenix squadrom pilots comign through on their missions (great place to resupply, then they dont have to go running all over the galaxy to find missile packs.

As far as my place.. all my customers love the Im NOT at theed, mining op, c-net. They all land in keren, shuttle in and are at my place before they could even zone in at the others due to lag.. and they dont have to deal with spam, and the 9 million shouts looking for a group and get the best stuff around not some over priced crap cuase they THINK its convinent .
