Hello Merchants of SWG, I come to you with a question regarding advertising in general.

I sometimes see droids patrolling around cities with the droids name containing waypoints/vendor advertisment. My question is how do you name the droid with that information? I have tried all kinds of spaces and slashes and dashes but nothing seems to stick. Does the naming have to be done at droid creation or do I just not know the proper command.

I have tried things like:

GeneralStoreAT-3000-4000

General_Store_at-3000-4000

General/Store/ATneg3000neg4000

Any info is appreciated.

It used to be, and I think still is, the case that you cannot have numeric digits in a droid name. Perhaps this has been fixed if you are seeing waypoints on some. Note that harvesters and other structures can have digits in their name, so you could have seen them there.

I have used names with the words separated by dashes, which is quite legible.

You name droids by programming 4 commands in a rowthat start with the same word (the name). On the 4th it learns the name. You can then reprogram those commands to something shorter.

The good news is we're pushing the dev's to add an ad barking droid for merchants with the Droid Invasion.
