Thread: What I did to grind...
"Kay's place is buying *ANY* item for X credits, just offer it to the vendor at (X,Y location) for 3k and i'll buy it! Limit one item per person per 16 minutes."
This worked fairly well, I started with 5000 credits for X but that got expensive, and within 24 hours I had quite a few campers who would come back in every 16 minutes or so and offer another item. The second day I changed X to 3000 credits and stuck with it. I end up shelling out a few hundred thousand credits, but this method worked well. I stopped doing it only because I had an armorsmith who was trying to sell on talus (lol) move in with me because I have a prime location outside of theed. I went up the last tree of merchant in about 3 days this way, and now the armorsmith has me going just as fast if not faster as my last method. I'll probably start up again to speed things up even more.
And no, I don't like having to buy exp, but the holo-grind method the devs have provided us with demands that we do anything possible to get it done. Just trying to offer a suggestion to those of you trying to grind merchant

Wait how do you limit them from selling things? When people offer to the vendor does a window pop up where ever you are or what? How can i keep someone limited to offering only one item every 16minutes?
You can't but you can refuse to buy those items offered by the same person sooner than 16 minutes apart.

Well not really, see I went up the managment tree and added vendors along the way, and remember these people are accessing the vendor and paying the door fee, so I was getting the exp for both of those actions plus the exp per hour for the vendor being loaded in the world. So really it's not as bad as you think.
Although my next method... I'm going to setup 10 houses in a row and do 1k per house per 16 mins, a total of 10k per person per 16 mins allowable. Should have plenty of people do it and the exp will roll in
What I did to grind Merchant.
I put my vendors in my business house, stocked them with resources.
Told my customers that I usually did deliveries to that I now had merchants and to kindly let others know of my business.
Master merchant in a week.
I used to sell most of my resources by delivery until I put two vendors in my house because customer base was just becoming unbearable.
So theni put two vendors. 1 for gas/chems other for minerals. At the time, I had approx 50 harvs and was constantly stocking the vendors but I was always pretty much sold out.
I am one of the bigger (and cheaper) resource suppliers on Ahazi and have been selling resources since the first month of release. I could post a 1 days transcript here of my mail break down on whats sold. And by using the new program,The Merchant's Buddy, last month shows me selling 67mil in resouces (ranging in price from 2 - 4cr/u).
So I guess it would be because I already had the business built up and when I went to a vendor based format, it wasn't that hard.
