Thread: Whole-sale to resellers.
Each time I hear about a new change to the merchant profession or to the goods selling system it seams to point in this direction. All the "adjustments" of the trade system seams to work against the crafters who run thair own little shop and is happy with that.
Personally I will be starting to adjust to this already now, and will be going in to whole-sale of my products as soon as I can find some resellers I can stand doing business with. (I do not wand to interact with the dewds that speak "1337 5p33k" or however that is spelled)
But what I wanted to ask you all about is: What do you think of this possible future for the marked in SWG, now what it will do to your business, but what it will do the economy?
Also will you be taking part in this, (or keep doing business the old fashion way) and if so as a whole-seller or a re-seller?
I'm going to have to be a reseller. I don't have enough skill points to master merchant cause I want to keep master music and master ent. and enough chef skills to be a bartender. That makes my products less-than-Uber, but oh well. I'm already reselling droids from a producer off my planet and for cheaper than my in-town competition. There's enough of a market to support both of us right now. For my chef food and drinks, I will have to buy my resources, not harvest, due to my lack of lots, so once again I'm adding cost to the consumer. They take a hit too in that I'm not a master chef so my foods don't buff as much. I'll see how this affects my selling price. Right now, foods are selling so far above cost that I can sell mine for cheaper than "normal" (due to lower effects) and still make a profit.
This may change, but I think I can still make money as a reseller, just not as fast or in as great an amount as others.
I've never tried for a huge customer base. I'll just offer my usual 5-6 types of items to my usual customers. When that stops working, I'll fade from SWG like many others.
They are making this "game" more taxing/stressing than my paid IRL profession. Every time they make it worse, I kick myself again for still being here. Not sure what the final straw will be, but think it'll happen soon.
