Thread: What happens to my vendors if I drop Merchant Profession?
The planetary registration is the most important thing I don't want to lose. I guess I'll have to give it a try in a couple days when I start lacking available skill points.

You keep everything you had prior to dropping it which is good and bad.
Eventually they will loose the merchent discount for operating (as soon as you pay up after dropping it updates) but it will keep all options like barking and planet map.
the bad side is you cant remove those once you drop it. meaning they will be stuck with whatever barking and always cost more due to planetary Advertising.

Yes Signs stay as well.
but like my above post you cant change it if you dont have the skill. So pick one you like, admin'd merchants can change your sign for you too if you let them.

I'm not sure where you are hearing that, but I doubt it will ever be that drastic even when they do decide to make a change.
