Someone in my player city chat said that on test center they determined that this resets the clock and is the ONLY way to let the system know you haven't abandoned your vendor. Can you look into this Doc?
As a precaution I went to all my vendors and did this. I was under the impression Initializing it would be okay, but I guess that would just count you as another customer.
Anyone have any new theories/data?

Well here's an update, I did this earlier, and just a few hours later I got the "abandoned vendor warning" email. So I withdrew a sale off the vendor and relisted it, but I didn't recieve another email telling me my vendor is no longer threatened. So how am I supposed to know? We have got to get some communication from the devs on this! This lack of communication is just unacceptable concerning this issue, and others. How can they let us live in this kind of axiety over our vendors? Just tell us! For cripes sake...

Yeah, and if SOE did screw this up (/gasp) and we lose one of our vendors, I put the chances of getting it back at less than 1 in 10.
Man, SOE's customer service is TERRIBLE. Does anyone have any faith at all in the CSRs?

None whatsoever.

This feature doesn't need to be made more clear. It needs to be removed. If the player has the skills required to own the vendor, then there are absolutely no circumstances under which a vendor that has its maintenance paid and is not empty should ever be deleted.

I agree. I can see unlisting a vendor from the planetary map if it has no items on it or if it has not made a sale in a set period of time, but deleting a vendor that has items on it and has maintenance paid shouldn't happen.

...and those odds seem pretty generous, to me.

Yeah, no doubt. I'll figure the odds to 1 in 50.
Even that might be too generous.

Amen.
Take them off the map. Delete them if they're empty. Make them unusable and unmapped if maintenance runs out. But any vendor with anything on it shouldn't be removed so casually. 2 weeks is horribly short.
My brother lives out of the country. What if he needed me to come visit? I should lose my vendors and all my stock because he needed me?
What about the people in Florida who're going to be without power for two weeks to two months at a time because of the recent hurricanes?
2 weeks is not reasonable.
