Hello all, to make a long story short, last night I was reorganizing my DE stock and resources. As a Master Merchant, I have vendor room to spare. I setup a resource storage vendor to help me organize. I initialized it, and dumped some maint into it, setting it up. Then I proceeded to dump some stuff onto it.
I then left for a bit to move some Harvs. I came back to find the vendor gone. Everything else in the house is there, as well as my Crate storage vendor next to it. Relogging didn't help, server restart didn't help, other toons can't see it either.
I CAN see the items for sale by using my Crate vendor, I can even withdrawl them, putting them into the stockroom. Can even put them back up for sale. So the items still exist, just the vendor doesn't. I simply can't get them off the vendor.
Any advice?

Submit a CSR ticket and /bug it. I never had this happen to me. I't should be a big deal if you can still see and use the items on the vendor. It sounds like your vendor is in the house just ghosted.

I had that happen, back in December. Actually, I still relist the stealth items as they fall off my stealth vendor, just to keep them from cluttering the storeroom. I submitted several tickets, and didn't get any good responses. Finally came onto the forums and vented my anger, and one of the correspondents helped out, and I finally got sort-of reimbursed for some of the stuff. However, if you have resources that aren't around any more, they probably can't give them back to you. Nobody can get to these items, not even the devs. So they are probably lost to you, and all you can get is reimbursement, either with some resource currently in spawn, or by credits.

Ack, that is totally what I DIDN'T want to hear. The low quality stuff I am not that worried about. However the old extinct stuff that sells for 30-60 cpu, that is what I really want back.
Did they just give you the run around, or pretty much just say those items can never be recovered?
Is that "stealth vendor" counting towards you vendor total as well?

The stealth vendor does not count toward my vendor total, nor do the items count toward my item total. They truly are stealth, though they can be seen if I do an "area" look at items on my vendor. I relist the items at 666 credits, so that I know what they are. I have kept them as a momento of how well the game functions.
They actually took control of my character that owns the vendors in the house, and some of the devs actually deigned to come in and look at what was happening. They looked at stuff for about two days, if I remember correctly. Was told very distinctly that the items were completely unavailable, and that there was no way they could get them back. Now, that was back about six months ago, and it wouldn't hurt to make a big fuss, and try to get the devs to come in and look at it, just in case they have figured out some way to retrieve those things. But there is no way to guarantee that you can get Sony to cooperate on something like this, it all depends on what their mood is, and who is willing to help you. They didn't do anything for me until about two or three months after the items went stealth.
Something like this is a "pointer" issue, and that seems to be something that Sony is particularly bad about being able to correct or control. It is probably part of why they have database problems.
Good luck.

well, it's probably a data base record cross reference that got lost or broken rather than a pointer, but that is besides the point.
I find it hard to believe that they can't find the broken records in the data base though and fix them. They cleary are there. Did a developer really look at this issue directly? Or just a couple of CSRs?

It has happened at least 5x to me. They always come back after the server reset the next day!

I have had it happen multiple times with items (not vendors) and the server maintenance cycle always fixes it for me in that case. But I think for Straker, we've definitely established that the server maintenance cycle is not fixing it for him.

What if you placed a new vendor with the exact same name?
Or would that break the database time continueum and form a black hole.

lol. he told me that he already tried that. it crashed the server. (just kidding!) it didn't really crash the server, but it didn't work either.

Woot, logged in now and it was back. I quickly pulled the items off it. Not sure if a CSR helped me out or what. Something probably was done since the server restart didn't fix it.
Thank you everybody who tried to help.
