I am not one of these amazing merchant players with a ton of friends feeding me to get things going, I am not overly excited about being a crafter (click, click, click), I really dislike reading game forums for the most part because they detract from the game.... I am just an average player who likes to have fun, logs onand decided to play the merchant class because it sounded great. So pretty much since release I have been running missions, collecting resources and saving up to start my business. I have a nice house now, I have 3 vendors in it generating some xp for me and yesterday I decided that it was time to stock up the vendors in preparation to opening day because I am getting close to global advertising. So I spent a long day at the bazaar checking current prices and noting availability and qualityvery carefully. Then I went back to my shop to begin....

I split all theresources I have been saving into standard size containers, priced them and loaded up the vendor. You see.. I decided to run a shop that specializes in the buying and selling of resources in large quantities as well as offering full access to all the crafting stations I have availablein my basement... I thought this would be a good business model... I mean who really wants to pay bazaar prices AND have to travel all over the universe to collect up the purchases whenthey could buy all they need from me at reasonable prices.

Well it turns out that selling resources is a bad idea since anyone that buys even the smallest stack of 1000 of an item ends up with all 30,000of that item that were on my vendor(while only paying for 1000) and leaving the other 29,000 of that item bugged and unretrievableby me or anyone else. What a huge waste of my time

Is there a fix date on this so I can figure out how many more missions I need to run to support my house/shop before I can open my doors for business?

Oh, I forgot to also mention...

I was planning on using the customized AD-Barking on my "Buyer" vendor to announce resources I was looking for and the prices I was paying for them. So sellers wouldn't bother offering me stuff at prices I was not willing to pay.

As I now know... the Advertising II skill doesn't work at all. On a side note, the Advertising I skill which is basic Ad-Barking keeps spinning my vendor around, which is pretty annoying since anyone that runs past my house gets "barked" and my vendor ends up looking stupidfacing a wall most of the time.

It seems if I have say.. a stack of 35,000 steel and I split it into stacks of 15,000, 10,000,5,000 and 1,000x5.. the first person to buy a stack of any size (say 1,000)gets all 35,000 units in their inventoryand leaves the other 34,000 units unretrievable on my vendor.

I am unaware of the 1000/300000 vendor issue, can you explain. I sell resources, and do real well.

I think it's an issue with amounts. I have a resource store on Ahazi and the largest stacks I sell are 500 units. At this point I have had no problems, other than last week when my vendors would not let anything be retrieved. They were the humanoid type and I think they went on strike. A csr came and helped me out, he reimbursed me for all my lost items, I had to delete the vendors, and now with the terminal vendors, I have the third model now, I don't seem to have any problems at the moment.

Fear not..

THERE IS A WORK AROUND FOR THIS

Resources only get bugged like this when you split them down from their original quantites.

The workaround is when you empty your resource harvesters. Take resources out of the hoppers in the amounts you want to sell them.

i.e. if you have 20,000 resources in your harvester. Take out 5,000, then take out 10 lots of 1,000 then 10 lots of 500 - you can list all of these at those quantities and they Shouldn't become bugged...

(not sure how it works for sampled resources, but it apears to be a bug with split resources - however note that this is not an issue for bazaar sales - SO THE FIX FOR THIS SHOULD BE PRETTY EASY MR DEVELOPER !!!!!!!!!!)

The problem is, I do not harvest most of what I sell. I buy and sell resources in larger quantities. This is a ok bandaid for the stuff I do harvest.. but when I buy a 32k stack of something from a third party and want to break it down to 20/10/1/1I am screwed.

I also found another workaround, which is to have someone else split the stack and hand you the item, then you put it on the vendor and rinse and repeat. Unfortunately this would take me about a week to stock my vendor with as clumsy as trading between characters is.

I don't think I have the same problem as the thread starter but I do have problems with retrieving things... especially resources. I can get it to work though... if i withraw a sale and try to retrieve it wont work the first time. I just try a few more and it usually goes through... or I try later. The key seems to be ignoring the first failed retrieve and trying again right after you cancel it.

I don't think volume is the problem, I've sold stacks larger than 2k with no trouble.

Retrieving items generally doesnt work teh first time but does the 2nd or even 3rd attempt.. However resources when split always seem to be unrecoverable no matter what I try...
