Thread: PURE Merchants of Starsider
I would like to compile a list of active PURE merchants on Starsider (ie. Do not craft their own items, only sell those of others).
I will be using this to organize a conference for merchants including topics such as: Market trends, supply and demand issues, pricing, advertising strategies, contracts, etc. It will also include OOC issues such as bugs, limitations, and profession expectations and how to deal with them and/or work around them.
The conference will most likely take place in the Coronet Auditorium.
It would be greatly appreciated if all PURE merchants could post there character names here. Thank you.

NOTE: This thread is also listed in the Starsider MSG board, but I will be checking both.
I know you said starsider, but I'm working towards pure merchant on Wanderhome, in case you want to expand your merchant coalition outside of your galaxy.
I'm also dabbling in architect so that I can build and decorate my own shopes.

I'm a pure merchant on Starsider.
I owned S&K's Bargain Basement outside of Theed and had about 6 suppliers. I didn't craft a thing except for the ton of grinding to get to business 4. Now, I work my pistol skill, and am P'O'd at bugs with my house. So until people stop ghosting in my shop, I've closed down for the time being.
Awaiting fixes to the merchant profession before I return.
I'm not a pure merchant either. And since you have to master Four skill boxes in Artisan to get to Novice Merchant and to do that you have to craft I would be surprised if there were a lot of pure merchants.
The real question should be are you a merchant that primarily sells other people's items in your shop as opposed to a Artisan Merchant who sells mostly their own items. I used the be the latter but am moving into the former. Would be moving faster but every 'smith in the game has thier own shop and doesn't want to let anyone else in on the sales
I'm a pure merchant. i only craft stuff for personal use. never sell it.
I'm opening up my bar soon (if the server ever comes back up) the Bantha Bar, on Starsider, Corellia. Where i'll be buying and selling on spice, food and drink, and other dodgy items as well as bringing in entertainment for my customers.
Hello,
I would just like to clarify what I consider 'pure' merchants. I consider anyone who's primary source of income is the selling of items of others as a 'Merchant'. This does not mean that they do not sell some of their own items though. However, I do not consider those who have acquired Business III just to have their own vendor in their shop as 'Merchants'. Their intent must be to build up a supplier base, deal mostly in other persons wares, that kind of thing.
Their goal must also be to reach 'Master Merchant' and use it as their primary profession.
Sorry if this seems kind of vague, but I hope you know what I mean.
Any merchants from Starsider?
I'm still working on that list, and would like to have a conference in game. I think it would be interesting to have a discussion about the things we talk about on the message board, in the SWG environment.
