Is it me, or does the merchant profession benefit from the most mature people in the game ??

I haven't really seen one post here with anyone really bitching about the state of the class - Even though it's FUBAR atm. Everyone seems to be posting constructive comments / suggestions about how to fix / improve the profession.. Most other boards Ive read have many people crying and bitching about the state of their class and getting really upset and pationate about it. Yes we get upset and frustrated with the bugs / lack of skills, but that rarely seems to spill over onto these boards...

Maybe its because the mindset of the person who picks merchant as their primary class is more mature.. Who know's, but I am proud to be associated with the Merchant class

hopefully our restraint and willingness to provide concise and proper ideas as to fixes/improvements will impress the Devs and maybe make them sort us out quicker - Or maybe it will make us last on the Devs list as others are shouting louder ?? who knows !!!

Yeah it seems so to me as well but I think the architects are about the same that is my main profession choice right now but with an alt on Scylla named Jyve.

I don't really want to generalize, but I think it's just the lack of appeal for the merchant classto less mature players. Younger players (or less mature players) are usually more attracted to killing, becoming bounty hunters, or smugglers... The allure of illegal activity or being a fighting hero is usually associated with less mature players also.

I'm not saying that ALL warriors, smugglers, BHs etc are immature though! Just that to me it seems they are also professions more attractive to younger players.

Being a merchant isn't really all that glamourous... it's just more fun for me because of the social aspect of the profession (and since it isn't real money I can play around with business models for fun to see how they work).

well with the new credt cap on the vendors, I think you'll see a lot of merchants leave the vendor tree and do something else. There's no rational self interest in being limited to selling the same crap the bazaar does, and I'm not going to sell a house of 3k...that's just stupid.

People go to my vendor becuase I sell large stacks of resources and good items that I've picked up for a deal. If buyers can't get their stacks of 10k resources, they'll just buy the crap off the bazaar. This better get fixed in a hurry or I'm done with the merch tree.

I do not think that is a credit cap, read it closly.

I think that some vendors do have a 3k limit, and should not.

I will ask for more info in my next post.
