I started merchant 2 days ago and am only at 0/0/0/1
Any ideas on getting people in the door ?
I have been handing Stim Bs with my shop waypoint on them and other items too.
Thanks in advance

Get into a mall, drop a vendor down with an interesting name and people will look at it out of curiosity, put a second one down to sell your medical supplies next to it though, so there is actually something there to buy if they want
Might be worth getting into a few malls, one on Corellia, one on Naboo, one on Tatooine.

Use the trade forums of your server.
You can try making some of your stims with the wp of your shop in the title or the description and sell them in bazaar too.

My recommendations would be:
1) Make the best product you can... Use top quality resources and experiment fully... Repeat customers and word of mouthare great advertising tools... ^_^
2) Location... Get a gret location for your vendor... Vendor malls or very active player cities are great... Another good idea is to setup just within the buildable zone outside a major city (usually 1k out)...
3) Add an advertisement to your signature here at the forums and include your waypoint... (You can look at my sig as an example)
This will at elast let 10% of your server population see your info in every post you make on the boards...
4) Get a Barker Droid and set it up to advertise for you as well... You can then go to another popular advertising location and use spatial to advertise as well... If you do Spatial Spam, keep it to a minimum... Only once per starport if you travel alot, or once every 3 minutes if you are standing around in a buff line, etc...
5) Wear your Master tag for what you are selling... Answer questions as often as possible...
6)Give sample products away and have huge sales once a month or two... For example, let's say you are a Weaponsmith - when crafting to make your schematics, keep failed experimentations that are still nice and give away as promotions. Name them with your waypoint info and tell the customer that you have much better versions on your vendor... You can also run a factory run of some really nice product and sell at the absolute lowest you feel comfortable with (even if you take a loss) and use it to draw foot traffic to your location...
7) Take trades of resources toward your product... Example - if you are a Doctor, take trades of high quality meats for crates of your nice stims.. Have them meet you at your vendor location to help advertise it as well... Give free buffs to people visiting your shop, etc...
8) And my personal favorite method of getting repeat business... Accept trade-ins!!! When I was Master Architect, I would take trade-ins of small houses and Medium Harvestors when customers wanted to upgrade to the larger models.. I then turn around and sell the trsade-ins to recoup some of my discount to the customer... If I were a weaponsmith or Armorsmith, I would accept trade-ins to get discounts, then I would do repairs and sell the successful repairs to recoup... The idea is to make the customer happy they do not have to destroy something they spent money on, and get them to spend more money on your product in the mean time... ^_^

Y aI have thought about buffin people in my shop - do not know if I want to do it free or do a factory run (probably stim b) of "50 percent off buffs at my location"
