I figured this belongs more in the Merchant profession forum rather than the Droid Engineering forum and I apologize if this has been discussed before, but...

Do any of my fellow Merchants that own a Merchant Barking Droid find that they would like to see exactly how many times your droid has been "hit" by potential customers for a waypoint to your shop? I think SOE should look into giving our Merchant Droids a hit-counter, just like a website has for counting the number of page views. I'd really like to see this to see if I'm getting a decent amount of hits and if my droid is actually doing any worthy advertising.

What do y'all think of that idea?

Yeah definitely is an idea, and it would show you how many players were at least interested in what your droid was advertising about... unfortunately it is tough to see if the effectiveness is accurate... after all let's say you have a barker droid barking in Theed or another npc city, players can hit up the droid for a wp ...but who knows if they actually make it to your shop to make a purchase... personally one current way to do it would be to see if you your shop(s) have actually picked up in sales, more so than before you started using a barker advertising droid... if sales have increased then your barker droid is worth it An idea i was thinking about would be to add a voting terminal in one of my shops, and have some of the following put on it:

How did you learn of my shop?

1) Advertisement (barker droid etc...)

2) A Friend reccomended it.

3) was passing by.

4) Am a loyal returning customer.

Personally i have to do a bit more research on voting terminals cause i see them work sometimes and then other times not at all so not sure if they are bugged or what... But this would help figure out how the customer base learned of your shop and how many repeat customers you have, other than by reading your sales e-mails andseeing repeat customernames ( I remember a lot of my repeat customers after seeing the names several times on sales e-mails) again you have to rely on a customer caring about casting a vote too hehe... so always something is left to chance...

what id like to see is an ignore button on the droids...


this way we have the option of going to a droid and getting the waypoint.. or ignoring the spam that is spouts...
