Thread: Is your vendor skimming the profit? **Updated**

Dunno about yours, but mine seems to like to keep a few sales for himself. So far this week, I've lost 53k in sales to my vendor handing out the item, taking the credits, but failing to deposit them in my bank account. Customer service has been no help and I'm getting close to broke over the deal.

Anyone had this before and have an ideas on how I can force CS to actually provide some real customer service?

I'd like to add in each case I am aware of, I asked the buyers (friends of mine) to purchase and additional item, and I received cash and e-maileach time, almost immediately.

In the cases where I was robbed, the item was sold and NO e-mail was generated letting me know the item was sold.

Have you gotten any response from CS yet on this issue?

I have recieved one CS response. Let me break down each occurance I know of

First time, day or so ago:

An item worth 5k was purchsed off my vendor. This was made buy a friend so I knew he purchsed it, he even said the credits were deducted from his account. I never received a e-mail stating he purchased the item, also received no credits.I asked him to purchse another item worth 1k, he did, and I received an e-mail almost instantly. I let CS know this in my ticket.

Second time:

Another friend purchsed a item for, 48k. Again, no e-mail and he was deducted the credits, i was left short. I also asked that he purchase a second item, received the credits and the e-mail instantly.

The first time I figured maybe I missed the credits in the pile. 5k could easily be overlooked, 48k on the other hand is not easily missed. I needed the credits to, so I was looking. I asked CS to review my vendor sales and make sure everything had worked correctly. The response I received was they saw a transfer for 5k, no mention of the 48k. They then said wait till next server reset (this morning). I did, no 48k, no e-mail. The first guy is a regular customer, so the 5k they saw could have been any number to transactions, considering he has bought more than one crate of droid repair kits, each 5k.

The scary part of this bug is that for you true merchants (hey, I'm a hobbiest really, few points to get advertising to help sell my droids) is the volume of your stock. Unless you keep detailed lists of what your selling, quite a few items like this could slip through and you would never know it.

Sorry if I restated a bunch, just want to be as detailed as possible.

No that is a good report. I would keep gentle pressure on CS to make sure they can account for the money and the sales. I haven't noticed this myself but there has been some weirdness with mission payouts that I've noticed this could be related.

I fear these bugs are occuring all the more often. I am seemingly getting emails now, but for a period of time, I wasn't receiving only a few. Now, either sales dramatically decreased by 3/4 for a few weeks which i doubt or the vendor is borked. I suspect the vendor is borked.

I have over 60M units of power on my vendors and it's just impossible to keep track with millions of credits coming in a day and millions going out at times.

Coversely, about 2 weeks ago, I found 9M in new credits in my account without sales receipts to back it up.

Most of my stock is in 100k stacks, so if this is occuring to me for each item i'm losing about 200-250k in credits.

I fear it is but do not have the time/inclination to document it.... and even if I did, CSR's wouldn't do anything anyway... as previous reports of different issues to the tune of 30M+ credits worth were not assisted with even though documented fully.

Vendors = SOE's latest credit sink

Gamble away your stock!

I sometimes use the vendor to transfer credits to other players in my guild without incuring the 5% bank transfer. Ie, friendly guild mate needs cash, so he offers a CDEF pistol for 10k credits. I accept and he gets cash into his bank from my bank. However, sometimes the credits would not transfer instantly. In fact, sometimes the transfer didn't happen until the server reset the next day. Eventually the funds did transfer. But it was kinda strange waiting for it because of the transaction lag.

Got my credits, thats a good thing, was about broke.

But, I didn't really get an answer =/ They apoligzed for the problem I had, but no real info on if this was a bug, could they see the transactions that had occured or did they just take my word for it.. etc.

Did the e-mails generate each time tho, or was their a lag between receipt of the e-mail and the deposit of the cash? In each case I was never notified of the sale. Imagine someone comming in, buying an AV-21 for 3 million, and you never get notice that it was sold. 2 Days later, you still have no credits and no e-mail, yet that AV-21 is gone, and has been after 2 server resets.

Imagine next your dedicated merchant, and every day, 2 sales, out of 50+ have no e-mail and you never receive the credits, in fact, you have so much daily volume, they get lost in the shuffle and you never notice it. You may only catch it on a big ticket item, but if you deal in quantity of small items, it's far more likely they could slip through.

I do appreciate the CS folks helping me out, but I do think this needs a deeper look.

I have been using this trick lately to try and keep track of sales.

Right before I log out I transfer all of my money to cash. Then, next time I log in it is easier to compare my bank balance to the sales e-mails since all vendor sales monies go into bank account.

Keeping all my money in cash also makes it easier to verify bank tips. I have heard the devs fixed the bank tip emails but who knows if it will break again?
