Ok, here is the deal... I took down a house that was once used as our vendor location. (we were relocating). I was not given any warning that theirhad a vendor still inside the building (was in a remote part of the house, used for storage). The house said 0 items and it let me re-deed it. Now I come to find out, a guild mate still had a vendor in the house with approx 2000+ items on it. He has opened up a ticket and I plan to aswell (since I re-deeded the house).

My question, is has this happened to anyone else? have you gotten any help from CSRs with it?If they can track credit transactions (with the credit dupe a while back), they must be able to track vendor stock.. (i hope?)

I take full responsibility (i should have checked the rest of the house)... however for someone else to be able to delete another characters things(with no safeguards), this is a HUGE flaw in the game and should not be allowed. This would give me an excellent reason to leave swg :/

It seems to me that if the game knew when a vendor was in a house to prevent transferinga structure, it should know that there's one in it when you try to redeed the structure.

Good luck.

FYI: vendors don't count as items in a structure.

yeah, i knew they didn't count as items... i just figured i would get an "error" or message when i tried to re-deed the house. My concern isn't that I messed up, (i admit it). Its the idea that I had control over someone elses vendor... If the shop was still full with the 12+ vendors, I could have ruined the game for a lot of people... I will post what happens..

fingers crossed.

Just out of curiosity why do you keep telling us you are canceling your account because you failed to make sure there were no vendors in the house? I agree that it should warn you about it in fact deleting vendors is far too easy in the game right now. I agree that it a tragedy but I'm not sure what the whole cancellation threat is about. You made a mistake. The system didn't protect you from making it but it didn't cause you to make it either.

please do not look at this as a threat.granted it sounds like one. I am merely sayingbecause of this, I willbe cancelling my service. This was the catylist to my decision (opened my eyes to how much time/effort i spend in a mmo, and with virtual items, stuff can happen).

If this would have happened to my own vendor, iadmit i am responsible for my actions.I can live with my own actions. In this case, there was no safeguard to preventme fromdeleting another players vendor. I find it different than another person placing items for display in my house. In that case, it is open to all parties that each of us could take the item. With respect to a vendor, sure it is placed in my house, however I do not have admin rights to it (so it is protected).

I find it hard to believe, a house will prevent you from deleting it if there is still an item in it, but it doesnt warn you if a vendor is still in it? The response I received from SOE was sad. The CSR was here to "address" my ticket, it was addressed by telling me to submit it to developers for future fixes.

I know for a fact EQ (another sony game) can retrieve items, so why not swg? I feel, like most large companies, i was treated as a number and not given any sort of respectable response. if i was told.. we can't fix it, we don't track items on vendors, it sucks, i know... wish we could help.but i wasn't told that. the responseappeared to be a scripted response that had no personal comments on the actual situation.I understand my feeling is a sterotype of "large companies" but there is a reason for this sterotype, its true. (i can vouch i work for one).

Unfortunatly, there is nothing the CSR can do to help you. The system is working as intended. The house containing the vendor was deleted. Therefore, the vendor was lost.

Yes it sucks. And I would like to see additional warnings (like the now have on all structures regarding maintance and the re-deed cost). But lets say YOU, the owner of the house, could not re-deed the house if some other player had a vendor in the house. Then you could potentially have a merchant grief you and prevent you from re-claiming YOUR lots. This was a common problem when a player would place a vendor, then quit the game, with the vendor still there. Often time mall owners only re-course to getting rid of a dead vendor was to re-deed the house.

Again, you have ultimate control of the house since its on your lot. Any merchant with a vendor in the house should know their vendor is at risk because of this fact. Also, vendors are not designed to be storage devices, so your merchant buddy was taking a double risk here.

Hopefully we will get some of these issues resolved in the merchant re-vamp. Until then, we just have to be extra careful.

you make valid points and I completely agree. I would be very pleased if we could get the warning when you go to redeed the house that a vendor was still in it. you could still redeed the house, however it would warn you. I would even be up to counting a vendor as an item if need be.

I will say some of my comments on the orignal thread came from frustration/feeling bad for what had happened. Although my friend is still leaving swg, I myself am not completely and have learned my lession. Sadly it was at the expensive of a good friend.

thanks
