vendor maintenance fees are based on the TOTAL listing prices of every item you are selling in that vendor..... so if you have a very high total listing amount then your maintenance fees will be very high also

It's all jacked. Basically it's the way the other guy explained it. The problem is that, that is the dumbest way to choose how to run vendors. My opinion, and others, is to have a flat fee and then to have a 'sales tax'.

Flat fee, and tax is the way to go IMO. So it cost 100 credits a day, and 3% of sales, that way, the "Credit Drain" is based on sales.

I am not sure if I will be able to add to the list, because if, what they say is true, I only have 2 more weeks, until they choose another Merchant Correspondant.

Well, the I beg you, if others like me are in agreement, the please make every opportunity to add it to the bug/want list. I know there are bigger problems right now with vendors (missing inventory, resource splitting, etc) but this is my current thorn in my side.

I love the Merchant class, it just needsa little more content and the bug fixes that have been posted on this board time and time again.

BTW, on resource splitting, I run a resource shop on the Naritus server, using a Bulky Terminal vendor, and have had no problems that I am aware of. I believe someone said the resource bug only affects NPC vendors so I am going to test that today with some droid vendors.

you dont even have to be selling big ticket items....i am trying to get a 7-11 type store going...a convience store...all those little things you need and nobody really crafts because they give no xp...nothing i have is over 1500....but i have about 50 items listed and my rate is about 45%...now 1500 a day doesnt sound that bad but it really is when you are selling 150 and 200 credit items...

the larger issue here is an error on the devs part...every one complains about inflation but when everything you do costs you 2000cr it starts to add up and be a problem..as a crafter i am nickeled and dimed to death...it is really hard to show real profit..it costs me about 25K a day just to get out of bed...i will dare to say all the mainence fees are too high and not balanced for ALL the different professions...it took me 2 days work to make about 45K and that just went back into all these machines...my friend spent maybe 4-5 hours doing missions and made 150K and has no money sinks.

Why do crafters have ALL the money sinks..

My big fear is that 1 morning they are going to "fix" NPC vendors then my rate will jump to 89,000 a day and everything i have will have poofed before i get home...

I trained Novice Merchant and my Vendor Maintenance on my Terminal Vendor went from about 500 a day or so to 15,000 !!! **edit**! I'm sorry I don't swear often but this has got me upset.

So, I tried to surrender the Novice Merchant skill in hopes of returning to normal, nope still 15,000 a day maintenance for my bulky vendor.

So does this mean that you are virtually FORCED to migrate to new vendors as you get them? I don't want a buggy NPC vendor (as I sell resources) that's gonna basically destroy my business.

Please, somebody, anybody, shed some light on this process. Is this a bug or something? Did I just not anticipate how expensive it is to be a Merchant? As it is I've traded back my Novice Merchant skill so I don't even have the XP to get it back at the moment to get it back.

Help!

Nauf I too feel that is a problem also. I don't know why the game is so heavy on crafter money sinks. It isn't that big of a deal when you have a highly marketable product, aka weapons. However when you get into the luxury items, aka homes, droids, chefs, etc..., you run into some serious issues. People just don't "need" to buy anything unlike the real world. Because of that there isn't a money sink for the fighter. I don't know what would be a good one, but somebody can figure one out.

You hit the nail on the head.

Maybe a little low in the fees there, but this has to be implemented, it just has to! The current system is way, way too expensive and putting me off being a merchant, why should I pay ridiculous fees to sell things that wont make back the cost??

NPC vendors are bugged how in terms of selling resources?

the sad irony is that it is just cheaper and easier and sales are better just listing on the bazaar...

if you have any thing over 1000 credits you might as well just pay the 20 credits to list on the bazaar for a week rather than pay daily maintenance on your vendor,,,

My vendor now has a rate of 89% and is costing 3000 a day to run...

if i had those exact same items on the bazaar, it would have been a 1 time fee of 1000...

something is just so terribly wrong

If you split a stack of 1000 units into 100 unit stacks and put 'em onan NPC vendor, the first person to buy a 100 unit stack will retrieve a 1000 units. The next 9 people will get stiffed, as the remaining stacks are bugged and can't be retrieved.

Terminals work fine for stacks tho'. Just expensive to run.

This work the same way for stacks of1000 units?

I have about 80k worth or priced merchandise on my npc vendor, but yet it still costs me only 1 credit.

I've also come to find out I can't retrieve any of my items from the "stockroom".

This isn't about a bug, it's about the absurd maintainence fees... I put up some skill enhancement devices for about 20k each and got charged about 5k to have my vendor open for a day.
