Thread: Furniture combinations, and new uses for old things.

I'm interested in any ideas people might have about placing furniture or using various objects to enhance the look of a shop and to give a house more of a shop feel. I've gotten alot of good ideas from Lino's Riverland Mall NE of Tyrena on the Radiant server, but the more ideas, the better.

One thing I figured out is that if you have a large house and drop a structure crafting tool (or a piece of junk that looks like one) on the stairs, you can position it it with move commands so that it sits ona counter infront of the vendor like a cash register. This is a little time consuming, and requires quite an **edit**-retentive streak, but it dosen't look too bad. Counters you have to make out of cabinets but I think most people have figured that out. I've gotten a little impatient waiting for new furniture so I've taking prompting from other people and I'm trying to figure out different ways to combine objects, and new uses for other objects. If anyone else has any ideas I'd love to hear them.

DEVS: Please give us a raise command to go with the move and rotate commands.

Unfortunately, ina Medium Tatooine house, the stairs are in the second room. The front room is a different area and items cannot be moved from one room to the other. So the natural place forvendors cannot use the stairs trick.

Not being able to place items on tables... or not being able to workaround it by raising and lowering items is my main grief.... no.. one of my main griefs.. this game has too many griefs.

On my naboo medium house, the stairs are in main room.. so i dropped a couple of square chests on the stairs, moved em into the wall... and now they look like cabinets.

I wish you could sink items too.. i wanted to make a really nice fireplace.. and i cant because the torches are too high up.

They should add more furniture. And allow use to use color schemes on them as well.

A huge YELLOW couch.. yeah thats hot..!!!!!

Does anything besides torches give off light? I know the free standing lamps don't but to any of the desk lamps?

Seems kind of silly we have spaceships andlasers, but wecan onlyuse fire to illuminate our houses. I live in a stone tat house toowhich makes mefeel more like Wilma Flintstone than Princess Leia. Even have a dinosaur in the basement.

PaulWars, bummer about the medium tatooine house, if it makes you feel any better corellian houses look like generic houses. Lrak, the cabinet idea is pretty cool I may try it out. I've seen people overlap torches and freestanding lamps with counters and end tables to make lambs standing on tables, but only the torch puts out light.

I had a decorator do my house so cant take credit for this ... but one nice touch she did was to put down the nice lamps and drop a torch in the exact same spot. This allowed lamps to give light that were not torches. I still hate the yellow light they give since it makes it impossible to see colors right in my shop (a tailor). But it beats having torches on a stick everywhere
