Hi all,
Thought I'd share the good news. Yesterday I got contacted by one of my customers - he'd had a problem with items he bought from my vendor disappearing. He was able to get a quick response from a CSR, and then was able to work with a dev to reproduce the problem. The dev was able to locate and fix the problem that he was encountering, and sent him an e-mail to thank him and let him know that a fix was in the works. My customer then forwarded the e-mail to me.
This is a fix for the common problem where items disappear after inventory after a purchase and then crossing a server boundary. I *think* that covers the vast majority of the disappearing items problems.
Now, two caveats - first, this is second hand - I didn't talk to the dev myself, my customer did. Still, I don't see any reason why my customer would lie to me about it. Second, the fix still needs to be confirmed and cleared by QA, which means we may still have about a week or so to wait before it goes live.
Still, I think this is good news for all merchant-types!

I have seen and heard similar CSR accounts. I'm sure it will get fixed eventually.

That's really good news then! I was even thinking about moving to another spot to avoid the problems.. guess now I don't have to move.

I'm hoping for sooner than eventually

well. that's better than my email from a CSR before the last big patch, that said it will be fixed in tomorrow's patch. Er...yeah. Still, email from a dev is pretty nice.

I'm hoping for sooner than eventually This wasn't just a CSR response, this was an e-mail from the developer, saying literally "I found the bug and fixed the code".
