Greetings everyone, I am currently working on getting some Merchent exp and had some ideas that might help to improve things.

First, I am really NOT a fan of getting Merchent exp, as I am currently sitting around waiting for the exp meter to go up. The present system is not bad, but players should have the opportunity to get merchent exp through other means, similar to an artisan mission. Merchents should be able to maybe buy and sell goods through NPC's for some merchent exp. I'm not talking ALOT of merchent exp, but enough to make you feel like you are making active progress. Personally, I really dislike anykind of exp that is almost entirely out of your control, and is 'time' based. If I am willing to spend alot of time, I should be able to get exp faster..

My second suggestion, and I am sure this has probably been brought up, is the ability to personalize an item for a specific buyer. It would be nice if you could place an item on the vendor, and have the option to allow only a specific player to purchase it. Many a time I have had dealings with other vendors and by the time I get there, the item they put on sale for me is long gone. Granted you can 'hide' these items in packs, but it seems more logical (and probably not too difficult) to be able to specify buyers for specific orders.

As I said, I am new, but these are just some ideas I had as I am getting familiar with the profession.

On the first issue, Merchant is a profession of running a business and that is how you get experience. It's designed to go slower and challenge you to grow as a business person as you go up the tree. I doubt they'll change that any.

On the second issue, that is a problem that has bugged me forever. I can't count how much stuff I re-make because players buy up the special orders. I have a vendor called "Custom Orders". Then I put the order in a backpack with the person's name on it. How much clearer can it be that that purchase is not for you? I think it's done more to be a pain in my side than anything else. Other things I have done is "hide" the vendor elsewhere in the building. The average player won't take the time to go searching through your entire house usually. So I just let the customer know where the vendor is in the house, so they can get their stuff. Or I do a direct trade. The problem with that is that the customer has to go get the money out of a bank terminal, and that can be a pain too.

What it really comes down to is that people our age playing this game have no level of respect for anything.

Puck, you reminded me to post my idea about private vendor sales. See my new topic in this forum.
