Thread: Begging and Pleading for Change
5 Hours so far. I go through this when it all expires each time. I spent like one whole month grinding and grinding all the furniture I could make with my factories. Tons of it. Then put it all on the vendor. When it "expires" I spend a whole day of click, enter, click, enter, etc. I've spent five hours today and I'm a little over half done. That's how much product I have. Really makes me want to holo grind instead of be a Master Architect/Master Artisan/Master Merchant.
Note to others: If you start with the last page, then it's easier because you arn't clicking on a large group of, let's say, Armoire I, and then suddenly the page updates and you accidently click on a crate of something and sell it for 600 credits instead of 6000. /sigh
While I'm ranting.....
SOE is also the maker of Everquest. And they seem to have a system that works a bit better as far as merchants go.
1) Set Values: You can set a value for a particular item and it will remember that value. So all your items are automatically the same price you just drop them in the merchant bag.
2) Search Functions: Searching for items on a vendor/bazaar in this game sux. In EQ you just type in "Centi" and it pops up with all vendors that have something with the name "Centi" in it, where they are at, and how much they charge. I'd settle for just the search capability in this game. If you want hot pants that are blue, you enter "blue, hot pants" in a bazaar search window.
3) Mass stock. We need to be able to place all the items back on the shelf, so to speak in one fail swoop. A simple restock button. Why do we have a time limit on products? It would make more sense to give the degradation over time on shelf than to make them "poof" into the stockroom magically and then have to be placed one at a time back on the shelves.
4) Vendor Description of Map: This is extremely lacking. If you specialize in harvesters, just furniture, etc, you are S.O.L. You can not place a vendor on the map for Furniture because that classification doesn't work. There are no Vehicles, or other specific items. Therefore it's difficult for people to search for items. Oh, and if you are a new merchant, do NOT give your merchant a name like Shelly, Marsha, Mark, etc. Give it a descriptor so that when you put it on the map it makes it easier to find. And it makes things easier to find in the store.
Player Pet Peaves:
1) Repeat end of number four above. Name your vendors what they are. If I go in a shop to browse and there are five vendors with nothing more than humanoid names on them (Biff, Shelly, Mary, George, Mark) I'm walking out the friggin' door. I'm not wasting 10 minutes of my impatient arse in looking through all the vendors to try and figure out what they are.
2) Guild Hall Placement. If you place them in the front doorway of a guild hall, chances are we will walk in and the game will not load the interior until we are past them. So we come in to the middle big room of the guild hall and there are no vendors. If we are smart enough to have our ctrl-m function on we then see the dots out front and buy. I've known people that arn't that smart, yeah, you know them too.
3) Though it is ever so neat to place your vendors on all three floors of the guild hall in seperate little rooms like an old time department store, don't. People don't want to schlep all over the dang building to find the armorer that they came there specifically for.
4) Don't bother to register your vendor if you are not going to keep it stocked. If you are holo grinding then remove the registration. I can't tell you how many times I was looking for armor or something and pulled every armorer off the global map and went to six or more places only to find nothing on the vendor worth a hoot. If anything. Holo Hell has robbed us of so many merchants/artisans it is drivining me crazy. Yet another case in point for a better search engine.
More rants to be added later after a few hours sleep and your flames.
I guess what I'm saying is that if it makes your gaming experience less pleasurable, then maybe you should think about what you can do to change it. You know by now wishing they will improve it quickly isn't very wise. Heck, sometimes you just have to junk some stuff. Is it less miserable junking what you made, or moving it every 30 days? If you've done without selling it for 90 days (3 restocks) then I'm assuming you don't really need the money.
I have taken to moving my stuff to a clearance vendor after 30 days. I mark it down half price, and junk it if doesn't sell in 30 days there.
Another option for you may be to remove and store some of your duplicate stock. Why move 35 red couchs every month? (maybe that's not a good example, or doesn't apply)
And hey, you can always leave them in your stockroom 8 days.. problem solved!lol!
Maybe the addition of a "resell" button on the stockroom would be an easy solution-- Sell again with same price and description as before in 1 click. If you want to change the price or description, use the normal Sell button. If this new button were added, then it should easily allow you to resell multiple items at once.

I agree there should be a resell button and that was one fo the requests in the follow up to the Top 5 issues.
Quite true except for one circumstance:
Let's say I keep10 of item X stocked in my vendor.I sell7 duringtheweek. Nextweek I fill the vendor back up to 10 (that is, I add 7 more). Since all the item X look the same, sometimes one goes unpurchased just because of its position in the list or other random factors. So, while the *type* of item sells consistently at the price, a *particular* item falls through.
But yes, if most or all of your stock falls through more than once, it's time to lower prices. Similarly, if your goods disappear as fast as you can stock them, you probably want tocrank prices up a little.
