Thread: Naming items, and speaking in color.

Forgive me if this has already been suggested, but I think it would be a cool if merchants would get the ability to talk in color, name crafted items in color, and just be able to use color to it's fullest extent like everyone used to be able to.


Pardon me if I am wrong because this was second-hand information but I was told the reason they made it so you couldn't name crafted items in color anymore was because it cheapened the merchant's ability to place premium auctions on the bazaar. So if this was a skill, that you got AFTER the ability to place premium auctions than it wouldn't necessarilyhurt that ability.


Maybe the ability to name an item in color could come at Business IV, that way most crafters could easily get that ability. But other applications of color would come in at Novice Merchant andin the Advertising Line, it could even be an ability, like "Silver Tongue" that you got +'s to up the advertising line.

I recall when items names could be colored at manufacture time. It was a great way to catch the consumer's eye, especially on the bazaar. I was sad to see it go. I actually still have a few schematics with the colored text, and several crated items from these schems. They sit on display now.


I believe there have been suggestions of how to bring back color. It adds a little more joy to everyone's life IMO. I like colors! Plus it helps to categorize items by color (my system used different colors for wound pack types, survey tools, and crafting tools -- easy to distinguish between the individual types of items).


However, I think this would be a very low priority item for the developers to implement. It certainly is something that would be nice to have again, but I just don't think it's going to happen anytime soon. This does not mean give up on the suggestion, it's just trying to level set you on where this would fall in terms of things that need to be implemented. This is my opinion, of course.

you can still craft items in colour.... lol i do it with my tailor made clothes even with the © 2004 Nevaeh sign attached to show all that i made that item, as a tag if you would
