Thread: My 3 vendors and their hundreds of items vanished a couple hours ago....Bug?

I'm an architect on Sunrnner and my 3 vendors disappeared and all the items in them in the last couple hours. They still show up on the planetary map under the Vendors category. I had hundreds of items on them worth millions of dollars. It would take months to restock them at those levels. I don't have the motivation or the desire to do that. /sigh

Has anyone else experienced this or have any knowledge of this apparent nasty bug.

Help me Server Reset, you're my only hope?

server = Sunrunner
in game name = Rolo Tourneau - Master Architect, Master Merchant, Master Artisan, Pistols 3
Location of missing vendors = Corellia; -918, -2732; inside Kraegor's Cantina

Check that the server bondary hasnt moved under you. Happened to me a while ago. If there is a server boundary undor your house, the vendors can disappear.

ScruftyDog,

Thanks for the suggestion, but how do I check to see if I'm on a server boundary. If I am, should I avoid placing them there in the future.

Btw- Did your vendors come back?

Let me know, Thanks,

Rolo

ScruftyDog, I guess you had it right even though I don't know how to check if I'm on a server boundary. I just logged in a few minutes ago and they were all back.

It sounds like this bug has gotten others, also. I hope they get that fixed because I don't think my heart can take the shock of that again.

I'll certainly sleep better tonight.

sometimes things take a *LONG* time to load.

Did you wait like 5 - 10 minutes?

We used to be able to find them easily, by getting pets to follow and seeing where they stop. Pets follow a bit better, so the boundaries are harder to find.

Xieflow, this bug was more than that. In all, it was gone 4 - 5 hours. I spent an hour or so online just sitting by my missing vendors with /afk on seeing if they would pop, but they didn't.(also tried logging out and back in again - didn't work)

Another detail to point out. My vendors are in a player city cantina where there were other vendors. Some of the other NPC vendors that weren't mine disappeared as well and came back later like mine. There was a business III droid vendor in the cantina that was unaffected.

Strange.

Sorry to hear about your troubles Aylish. I'll check again tonight, but I believe I didn't lose any items on my vendor when they reappeared last night. Also, I had previously custom dressed my vendors before their disappearing act and they returned with my custom clothing job.

This is a bad bug, in my opinion, and I'm one not to get to worked up about bugs. Many merchants, especially architects like myself, have lots of high priced items on their vendors and right now we seem to be in the midst of some version of russian, err, vendor roulette.

btw - I still have an open ticket on this issue.

We are having this problem in a number of shops inour city. The CSRs say it is a serverline, and it does seem to be effecting shops in a line running east west through a section of the town. The width of the line is more than I would have expected though, spanning a large generic and a medium Naboo style house in width. Even when the vendors in the medium house were moved to the furthest point from the large generic house, they are still doing the disappearing act

There are two main things that happen to the vendors:

1. They vanish for a seemingly random amount of time. When they come back, they are usually unchanged. (One missing vendor, a Mon Cal male NPC, has lost his clothing and will no longer accept any clothing that is given to him, despite the other vendors belonging to the same merchant being able to accept clothing fine.)

2. More seriously, the goods onvendors vanish, completely. No sales messages, no credits, no items.

Both of these issues are seriously impactingthe merchants in this section of town, making their vendors less reliable, through no fault of their own, and causing great financial loss in the case of the disappearing stock.

Unfortunately, this server line runs right across the Market Square, main commercial district in our city

I have re-mapped a possible relocation of the shops, but my biggest worry is this. When we first moved in, we did not have these problems. Vendors have been in at least one of the shops since the city was built. Reports of these issues have only been coming through to me recently. So, if the server line has shifted, if it can do that, what is to stop it from shifting again? What guarantee is there that if I get everyone in this section to move their houses in line with the new plan, that the vendors will be fixed in this location?

This is causing me considerable stress, and the merchants that are effected by it even more stress. Can anyone verify for me that this bug is indeed server-line related? (too many incorrect answers from CSRs in the past to trust the word of one) And, is there anyway at all to definatively locate the edges of the server line so that we can move far enough away to be fixed?

Thanks in advance for any help
