I just had an idea, i think itd be cool if Master Merchants could submit an advertisement to SOE, and if approved, it would show up in the loading screen for that planet randomly with all the other Master Merchants adverts. It wouldnt be that hard to just get the text from the server, and itd be more interesting than the newbie loading screens that are in place now. And there could be pictures you can pick for various types of things you sell, and generic pictures if you sell multiple types of items.

You mean, take the place ofthe Selonian description with a picture of a jawa?

Seriously, though, it's a decent idea. But the manpower it would require to prevent "OMGWTFLOL Shop Here d00dz!1one" wouldn't be worth it, at least to SOE.

An alternate idea along the same lines would be large billboard in cities, possibly in areas were people typically stand in line ( shuttleports and spaceports ), cycling through paid ads from merchants, 1 per merchant. Possibly restricting it to master merchants...

Billboards would actually give it a star wars feel! And i think merchant signs are still too small. The advertising in this game is crap and needs a redo! Im speaking as a consumer, not a merchant.
