Hello all,

I've noticed some very cool structure names appearing and I can't for the life of me figure out how they did it. How do you get multiple lines in a structure name?

i have heard that if you make like a macro of a multiple line text,asign a hotkey to copy the text like windows and then paste it in the name of the structure bar it will make it multi line.now i could be wrong but the macro bar is the only place ingame to make multiline text or write a email and copy the text from it.

There are two options for this...

1) Use the windows notepad to write out your text and then copy it into the structure name field.

2) Use the SWG notepad (/notepad) to write out your text and then copy it into the structure name field.

#1 requires being able to alt-tab out to the windows desktop, so if you have less than 1 gig of memory it's probably going to be quite painful to do this. Both of these options require having chat-edit-copy and chat-edit-paste mapped to keystrokes. This can be done in the option menu under key-config.

An interesting note is that the structure field seems to automatically center-indent. I do not know if there is a way to change this.

I should have read the guide. Didn't think something like that was in there. I did get it to work but the guide was slightly off. I mapped copy and paste to Control/Shift/C and Control/Shift/V. I tried coping and pasting from both the ingame notepad and macro windows. It kept reporting Clipboard NULL. I wondered if it was trying to use the Windows clipboard. Bingo. Worked like a charm

Map the copy and paste keys. Write out what you want in WINDOWSnotepad. Copy and paste. Added all the lines and everything

Tahqa, looks like we both were posting at the same time Thats for all the help. I've also been trying to figure out the darncopy and paste thing since I first started playing.Two birds with one stone. You guys are great!

Hmm.. never had a problem with that myself. I've always used the SWG notepad and never got any error messages like that.

This really doesn't matter, Zavannah. When you copy something from the in-game notepad, it's stored in Windows notepad until pasted somewhere else. I suspect you have not set up your in-game hot keys correctly.

As far as I can tell I configured it correctly. Text copied and pasted fine from the ingame notepad to the chat window. But for some reason it didn't want to paste into thename gump. Will /bug it.

Yeah, there is something twitchy in the cut and paste mechanism. I have two computers that have the SWG configs set up EXACTLY the same. On one computer I can do in-game cut/copy and paste to and from email, to and from windows notepad, to and from SWG notepad and into all naming widgets. On the other computer I can do all of the same things except for copy from email. I've beat my head on this and finally given up because I can not figure out what the problem is.
