I've been to a few shops around Lowca and have yet to see one that really impressed me. I think my shop is one of the best designed shops out there (it took hours...and I'm proud :smile

What are some creative ways you've spruced up your shop?

I just moved into my new large Tatooine house and am still decorating, but so far, I get the most compliments on my fireplace. Took me a week to make the parts and set it all in place. And I go for the minimalist look. I'd post a pic but all I have for webspace is lousy Geocities. Blech. Feel free to drop in and have a look-see though. Please excuse the moving in mess. I recently started a tailor character on Bloodfin and I haven't seen many shops there that I've been "wowed" by either. I only have a smallshop but I did my best to set it up with various outfits and a few pieces of furniture (to give it a boutique/homey look). It's hard with a 150 item limit though! lol

Here are some ideas for a well designed shop. (Which I used in my own, photos soon, promise *hehe*) I used a Medium Naboo house, so these ideas might or might not work just for this specific home, be creative. Post your ideas.

Store Map: Make travel packs and rename them with directional comments. (Cafe/Diner Upstairs, Pet Shop Basement) You might prefer bone armor (it looks more clinical) but with travel packs you can use for storage. I placed these close tothe stairs in a symmetrical fashion.

Register Station: Instead of just placing the vendors down, I sectioned off the main room using bookcases, locked containers, and loveseats turned backwards to create a very original looking cash register desk. I added a few plants in front, a video screen, some trinkets on the locked containers...and you have yourself a chic looking register.

Window Displays: Take each space between the columns and create a window display. I did this by adding torches to cast the right lighting behind the clothing and placed similar outfits together. Right now I have featured "Formal Wear"

Added Touches: Find some speakers and placein the main room of your store, create display tables showing off your goods in the middle of the room. Clutter is not pretty, and it takes forever to load. Add greenery. Although the game has limited house plants, something green makes the ambience more comfy.

Uniforms: Outfit your vendors in identical clothing. All my vendors are Female Twileks, thin, and decent looking. (It took forever to get decent vendors, randomness *sigh*) My favorite Uniform ideas are using light tops with dark bottoms or the smocks/dresses (nothing too fancy, they are workers after all) (http://www.box4.com/abzintia/shops.html View my guild mates vendors that I outfitted)

I spend hours decorating and trying new things out with my shop/house. (I'm a set designer in real life...hehe) Too bad there wasn't an interior design profession in the game, although it would be just as broken as all these other professions. Anyhow, Happy Decorating!!!

Does anyone know how to make the weapons appear on the wall. I saw this at a weaponsmiths house and would like to do something like that.

Hi Bobpants.

To place weapons on the walls, you must be on the stairs. (Silly that they don't give us an up or down option)

1. Drop the weapon then


2. Targetand move by typing/movefurniture forward # (you can also move it back)


3. Rotate by typing/rotatefurniture right (or left) #

Note* for rotating you can only rotate between 1-180 I believe, or it might be 1-360, I don't remember atm.

I love how you have your shopgirls all in uniforms. Very cute! I also like how you used the locked containers. I was thinking of using Structure Modules, that architechts use to build houses, as my counters.

A question: In the second picture, what do you have in the basket in the background? It looks like some sort of plant (?).

Yes they are wood staffs dropped at different levels on top of a woven basket. I've hardly seen any of these baskets anywhere, I thought I would make good use of it. Before I had the basket as my baby bearded jaxx's kitty basket...awww but sadly he is long gone... *sniff*
