Thread: Vendor professionalism

Does anyone here hold some sort of standard they expect from vendors? Anything that you would or wouldn't do with a vendor/have them say? I'm just curious. I'm dabbling in merchant(3/0/3/1) and have come to expect a sort of "quality" if you will from vendors. It's probably just me, but I'm kinda disgusted when I walk into a shop and get greeted by a vendor using "u" and "ur" instead of "you and "you're" or "your".
Yeah I agree, I also hate the old hags and fat slobs, don't these people have any pride in their appearance!
Although I saw a really cool idea the other day. Get a thin/normal looking vendor shapewise, then put a paper bag (helmet) over their head so you don't have to look at them. Works really well. ![]()
Otherwise yeah, if you can't type a decent bark, use one of the standard ones. Its not like you have to type the bark out more than once. I understand people taking shortcuts because they can't type fast, but for vendors...get it right.
It's a good job you people don't run HR departments if you associate 'fatness' and 'uglyness' with professionalism!
LOL.

1. Access Fees. I will turn around right there and leave.
2. Inability to differentiate between what is reasonable spelling and grammar and what is not.

Yeah. Grammar is a MUST. I'm not up on Ebonics so I don't want to deal with someone that is too lazy to spell out a word. Middle school was back then, time to move on.
Actually, for a good chunk of the l33t d00dz out there, middle school is now. Even at that age, I still never used phoenetic spelling, however (though I do admit the internet was rather small at that time).
Generally, you will find then heavily involved in PvP, and especially duelling as a way for them to assert thair self worth.
And yes I personally have a high standard... I normally goes throe several vendors before I find one that is acceptable. Never in a million years would I use a add bark that contained "1337 5p33k" (well something like that, I do not have a English-1337 dictionary)
Yeah I find that 3 groups play this game.
1. The "kiddies" - middle-schoolers/early high-schoolers. Lately they seem to make up a very small percentage of the players, prolly moved on to FFXI. Regardless, they know little more than the new movies. Ask them who Luke Skywalker was. (I got into it one day with one about Darth Maul vs. Darth Vader over who was better. He only knew Darth Vader from this game...)
2. College-aged people - this seems to be the biggest chunk of players, the 18-30 year olds who remember the old Star Wars and lived through the new Star Wars. I fall in this group btw. (my fave movie is Ep. 4 however)
3. The "old-timers" - the 30-50 year olds who were into the original Star Wars craze.

Very nice article N'J! I totally agree. I usually roll my eyes and stop paying attention when people talk like that.
