Thread: Crates. What's with that?

the whole "factory crate" tab should *really* be removed.

The items should be placed into whatever they would normally be placed in.

On my vendor I believe I've got about 4 - 5 pages of goods.

2-3 of those pages are under the "factory crate" heading, and I believe I'm losing sales because people are only looking at the first page, which happens to be all crates of powerups. (I've got crates of Modified Republic Blasters, Gaderiffi Batons, Weapon Upgrade Kits, etc etc).

And no I won't put down multiple vendors. There isn't much room in the tent I've got my guy in, and my house is too far from the shuttleport to really draw sales. And I've always hated multiple vendors, 'cause then you waste more time shopping, and looking under whatever tab you wanted something for than you should have. Nothing is worse than walking into a "Weapons" shop, looking under the carbine tab on six different vendors, and seeing that they have none on 'em.

One thing I have seen is craft a camp kit or something, set its name as VEDOR HAS MULTIPLE PAGES or something like that and then set the price to 999999999 so no one buys it

I agree, they should remove it. I mean if you look under the crates section on the bazaar you still have to look through the list to find what you need. It defeats the idea of having subsections to speed up your search since it doesn't actually speed things up lol.

I agree, the vendor/bazaar category of Factory Crate really defeats the purpose of having categories.

Not the best part of this game's design.

Generally, they tend not to incorporate 'user interface design' into their development phase, and it shows.

I'm seriously thinking of having another vendor

I wanted the save the rest of my vendor slots for guys who don't sell anything that stand in my house wearing cool armor.

Oh yeah. If I dump, say... 300,000 credits into a vendor, and then drop Master Merchant, that vendor will live out the 300,000 credits, right? (even after Publish 7's merchant changes). The vendor wouldn't be to sell anything. I would just want to have a few "npcs" in my house in full ST armor or something

Well, considering that those entries on the left are supposed to be filters...

Items that are in factory crates should appear in both the category they are from, AND the factory crate filter. It is possible that someone might be looking through all the factory crates you have.

I agree though, I definately want to see my component crates listed in the component entries, these things just don't get sold outside of crates. You don't cut crates of components up and put them on the vendor, you keep them in the crate. So 100% agree. Items in crates should be listed in the appropriate category for the item.

Yeah I do too, but there are enough stories of people that have only realised there are other pages on vendors...after 5 months of playing. That's just scary.

The whole "Next page" thing needs to be made one of those loading screen tips.

Now that I have custom vocalization I set my vendor to say "Our vendors may have multiple pages. Please click 'next' to see them."

Yeah I like the droids though... especially the EG6 power droid, since I sell power

And droids can't bark, which seems silly to me because you could never shut C3PO up.

If you go under "all" on my vendor, you'll have over 5 or 6 pages... too many. Filters are a big help, especially if you are just looking for a pistol or something.
