Doc, Can you tell me how the Devs see merchant as a concept?
I dont want to turn this into another protest about the Item limits. I fully understand that its you bringing the bad news and I have complete faith that this IS not coming from you.
Just want to see WHERE arethey taking us?
When the Vendor changes were foreshadowed they all sounded great to me
Remove inactive vendors tick
Remove "exploited" Vendors tick
Make merchant a viable route tick
I envisaged my City Mayor and Architect taking on the role of Master Merchant. Running the City Mall by buying items from the part time crafters at slightly reduced rates if they didnt want to surrender skill points for merchant . Having more committed craftershave there own Vendors within the mall. Giving my community an option about how they would like to organise their characters.
Running my Vendors selling to the general community.
The item limit, in reality removes this option totally! How can a merchant represent a number of crafters properly? How can he even represent himself?
What Role in the game will the merchant play if he cant give a decent range of items to sell?
I Understand the need to reduce the Vendors from overhead and all the dead vendors scattered about. That has been addressed within other portions of the patch and I applaud it!
Surely We should let the patch come into effect without the item limit. Look at its effect over a reasonable time. THEN and only Then addressan item limit if its appropriate!
