I think that summed it up quite nicely but you missed the /slap before slaming the door!
I'm not a violent person but the first thing I said to my boyfriend after reading the patch notes was along the lines of 'show me who came up with this idea so I can beat some sense into them!' I'm really hoping they reconsider because the 'nerf' will affect everyone's gameplayto some extent and, for SOE, no players = no money. *sigh*

Awesome post!
I'd say you summed it up perfectly.
I can completely relate to all of your frustration about this too.

Very good, and it pretty much sums uphow I feel.
It's noon here and I thought I'd log on and restockthe vendor before the server goes down, but then I realized that there's no point in doing that anymore. Since they announced the vendor nerf it's just not fun to play.

*answers door*
guy in suit: ArthurDent? Hi, we're fromthe game companyand we'd like to sell you another month of gamingservice.
AD: cool, well I really like your product, and I enjoy playing it.
guy in suit: Great, well our devs have been working very hard and we think you'll really like some new changes we have for the coming month.
AD: *picks up checkbook, starts looking for a pen*
AD: excellent, I play as a tailor, what kinda stuff have you got for me in the next month?
guy in suit: well, nothing for tailors, that's not something we like to focus on
AD: Ok, that's ok, I also like to play as a bio engineer, what new cool stuff have you got there?
guy in suit: well, nothing there either, sorry about that
AD: That's ok, I just started playing combat medic how about that, I'm really excited about that class.
guy in suit: Great! Lots of changes for combat medic.
AD: Awesome, lots of neat new stuff? new schematics? new abilities? new quests?
guy in suit: Well no, not exactly
AD: Ok, well what'cha got for me? What are the changes?
guy in suit: Well, we nerfed them.
AD: Hmm, that doesn't sound too fun. Oh well, I have a smuggler also and am really looking forward to the revamp. At least that's coming up right?
guy in suit: Uh, no, we decided not to do that, at least not in the forseeable future.
AD: How about Jump to Lightspeed? Really looking forward to the Beta. I went to fanfest, I'm in the beta right? Wasn't that supposed to be a fanfest perk?
guy in suit: *silence* well, we'll see *neverously shuffles feet*
AD: *pauses*...*puts checkbook back down delicately on the table*
AD: Darn, well this really doesn't sound too good guys, I'm dissappointed in the amount of new content. But there's always next month right? And at least I have a lot of clothing, pets, and tissues to make. With that necklace fix I have a lot of new things that I can offer at my store, and I'm really happy about that.
guy in suit: Well, there might be a slight problem with that. See, we've been working on the merchant class a lot.
AD: Awesome, there are SO many great things that have been proposed that would make merchant so much better. Did you implement the one-button relist?
guy in suit: well, no
AD: That's ok, you guys were probably busy working on the email spam problem right? Like you said at fanfest?
guy in suit: no, we didn't get around to that quite yet, but we've got that on our "to-do" list somewhere
AD: Hmm, how about sales reporting? All the neat sales summaries, and graphs, and charts, and all that stuff right?
guy in suit: nope
AD: vendor admins?
guy in suit: nope
AD: Well, cool, brand new content then, a breath of fresh air right? What have you got for me?
guy in suit: well, it's not exactly new content.
AD: Well what then?
guy in suit: Well, we nerfed vendors.
AD: Hmm, that doesn't sound much fun. Thats ok though, I've got too much stuff in my vendors anyway. I can probably prune them down a bit. I've got 2 vendors now and about 1,200 items in them. What do I need to do? Maybe shave a couple hundred off the top? Get em down to a lean, mean 400 items each? Just tell me and I'll do it.
guy in suit: no, the item limit for your level of merchant will be 120 items.
AD: *deep breath* I dunno how I could possibly reduce my stock down to 120 items on each vendor guys. Help me out here. Throw me a frigging bone here.
guy in suit: No, actually Mr. Dent, it's 60 items per vendor, 120 total.
AD: WHAT? ARE YOU FRIGGIN KIDDING ME? 120 ITEMS? THAT'S ONE-TENTH OF WHAT I HAVE RIGHT NOW.
guy in suit: calm down Mr. Dent. It'll be alright, we've thought this through very carefully and we wouldn't leave you out in the cold.
AD: SO WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO DO WITH THE EXTRA 1100 ITEMS ON MY VENDOR NOW?
guy in suit: well, whatever you want I suppose. We hadn't really gotten that far in our thinking.
AD: OH GREAT. I'M A CRAFTER, WHAT AM I SUPPOSED TO CRAFT THIS MONTH SEEING AS I WON'T BE ABLE TO PUT ANYTHING NEW ON MY VENDOR?
guy in suit: you can craft anything you like... *pause*... but you might have just a teensy weensy problem selling it is all. Maybe you can try other things and take a break from crafting for a while?
AD: Ok, so let's summarize.
guy in suit: ok
AD: Nothing new for tailors.
guy in suit: correct
AD: Nothing new for bio engineers.
guy in suit: correct
AD: Nothing new for smugglers
guy in suit: correct
AD: combat medics are nerfed
guy in suit: correct
AD: I am going to lose 1100 of my items that I've worked really hard to make over the last year
guy in suit: that's right, assuming you can't sell them all
AD: which I can't possibly
guy in suit: true
AD: And for this month I can't craft anything because I'll have no place to put it
guy in suit: that's essentially correct
AD: And at the end of that, after taking a (forced) month off from the game, and paying you for that month, and after losing all those items, I can then only offer one-tenth as many goods, and thus do one-tenth as much crafting as I did previously
guy in suit: right.

Problem is recursive macros will also be removed so that will not work so good.
