Hey just wanted to find out if their was any official word on packs being counted as 1 item regardless of the count inside the pack. Im and armorsmith. Just currious. And yes I also want the extra storage since the housing limits suck. And as the Devs in the past have mentioned they would rather us use vendors for storage untill they could fix the house limits.

U had an item limit of 250 in your house before ? How did u manage that ? I thought the item limit was 150 for any house, and items in backpacks have always counted toward the house item limit (well, in my house anyway...)

House item limit vary by size of the house or rather how many lots it took to place that structure, ie a small house that takes 2 lots will allow 150 items, being 75 items per lot with a cap of 250 items total. So a large house that takes 6 lots will still have a item limit of 250, not as you would expect 75 x 6 = 450.

The above poster is correct, 250 is the limit for house storage on a large house. There was a bug a while ago, that may have resurfaced I guess, which involved something like dropping a resource into a pack with the same resource would drop the house limit by 2 instead of just 1 or something. So are you crafted and split and used resources you house count would keep getting dropped incorrectly. Than after a server reset or something you'd end up having 217 items in a 150 item house! I got stuck with that once, it really sucked trying to move things around to make room.

Actualy, the bug involved crafting stations with storage too. Alot of people ended up having over-stocked houses that day, but it wasn't because items inside packs were suddenly counted, it was due to another bug, one that most people didn't even know existed. They put an item down, the game let them, they figured they had room for it.
