Thread: Business 3 1 day per month and still run a vendor with 250 items?

I am a crafter with lots of extra crafting XP, but I want novice scout instead of the business/merchant line, and still run a vendor. So 1 day each month I drop novice scout and I use my extra crafting XP to learn business 1 2 and 3. On that 1 day I list all my items for auction, and relist everything in the stockroom for sale. I then drop business 1 2 and 3 and get novice scout back. Next month I repeat. I have tons of extra crafting XP and I only want novice scout....I don't think this is a huge deal, people having 1 or 2 poached vendors, but they are still going to happen. You only need to have merchant 1 day out of 30 to operate a vendor.
I guess you can do this but it's a lot of trouble to go through just to place a vendor. Since everyones template is different(mostly so) it might not be very easy to drop and relearn skills.
Trade is faster.
Nice for smuggler / pistoleers. Idealy you want some Terrain negotiation in your template for a smuggler combat type so just swap 3000 scout for 0030 artisan once per month when you restock (or every 5 weeks or whatever) and you get the extra.
The main benefit of owning a vendor is that people can drop things off for me. I do hope that the 'back end' to the commodity database is going to allow easier trade between players (e.g. ranged secure trades and some kind of delivery service) as the removal of rogue vendors is going to cause stagnation in the economy otherwise.

Yep, it's a loophole ! But it's a tiny loophole, hehe...
Novice Scout is useless by itself, why wouldyou want to keep it ? You'd need at least the first 2 boxes of any Scout tree to get some tiny benefit from the profession. So you would have to regrind them every month as well ?
Besides, youwould only be able to stock once a month, so that means you would have to store allthe items thatyou intend selling until your monthly "restocking" can be done.
I don't think this "loophole" will be widely exploited...
Novice scout by itself is extremely useful ( says the tailor/armorsmith who needs a crapload of hides).
Also, most combat chars have basic novice medic as well. Business 3 takes less than 10 minutes to grind, just doing mineral survey tools ( you don't even need eng 1). 500 xp, 1000xp, then 3000 xp. A total of about 60 combines, of any metal.

Wouldn't it just be easier to keep Business 3 and save yourself the trouble of re-grinding it every 30 days?
Keep in mind that as your vendor sells down, you won't be able to restock it until you get the skill back.
Heaven forbid that it gets emptied on the 2nd day and deletes itself before you can grind back up to have the skills to restock it.
It's a loophole, but it's so much trouble that anyone who bothers to explot it deserves to get away with it. After the first 2 maybe 3 months, they'd get tired of it and stop.
i can grind an entire master proffession such as rifleman in under 2 days, dropping some scout skills will take me exactly 30 minutes of Rancor hunting on dath to relearn (the creature harvesting XP) and artison crafting with a good macro takes less than 1 hour of my game time to get buisness 3 maybe 1 and a half hours and 2 hours max to get novice merchant.
yeah also if your a master proffession for along time you already have a ton of rserve XP 900k to be exact so dropping a few boxes isnt much of a chore at all once a month if you play alote
