Thread: The Real Merchant

While at work I thought of a couple of ideas for the Merchant profession that should breathe some life into it. Now these were thought of real quick but I will throw them out here to see what flies and what sinks, some of them I thought were real novel.

1. More engaging advertising - Give merchants the ability to set up neon signs if you will or signs that are more eye catching then the run of the mill ones currently in game. Neon lights maybe? Colored blinking lights around a sign or door? Signs that are raised higher than the building they are on?(i.e. the way fast food signs and convenient store signs rise above the street and catch your attention from a mile away!)

2. Store Fronts - Give us the ability to create themes for shops, stores, malls, whatever you call your place of business! Themes would include the employees with coordinated uniforms, vendor barking that is appropriate for for your theme, or whatever you guys can think of.

3. Music - In store music, why not?! We could get other professions involved here since the devs are big on interdependency. Get a musician to record a piece of music that is played over a speaker system that could possibly be constructed by a master artisan, but it takes the skill of a merchant to set it up in the store.

4. The renting out of or selling vendors is an idea I like. I see that around here often. Thought I would throw it in anyways lol.

5. Item of the week displayer - give us the ability to set up a device in store that displays an item that you want dispayed. A device that displays a holo image that rotates or doesnt depending on the setting of the owner. Would be great to show off any crafters pride and joy. Could add some text so you can give it a gripping description.

If these ideas have been discussed to death already then let this thread sink just as quickly as it was posted.......................
