Hi all. This is my first time on the merchant forums. I was hoping someone could help me. I have three accounts and my characters are a Master Tailor, Master Chef, Master Artisan and Master Armorsmith. All three of them are Master Merchants. My vendors are totally maxed out at 12,000 items. I love crafting, but it seems that since that since I first started playing 2 years ago, most of my time is spent re-listing items after they have expired as I have to list each item individually. It would be a hell of a lot easier if i could list items of the same price in a group using the shift or ctr buttons. Even a droid that could automatically relist things would be great.

Does anyone have any ways to makemy lifeeasier? As a master merchant,I feel life should be easier instead of more difficult... or is there something that I'm missing?

I know exactly what you are talking about, it is rather pissing me off too, and im sure it wouldn't take that long for them to implement this into the game.

What do we pay these guys for I wonder sometimes...

In reply to your statement, I'm a tailor.

Out of all the professions, tailors have to list alot of items on their vendors. We have the most schematicsavailable to us,and to have a good boutique you need to have each and every item in a range of colours. Also we sell BE items and large amounts of crates containing components that are needed by armorsmiths and chefs. So as any tailor will tell you, we have no choice but to list large amounts of items on our vendors.

No actually any Tailor won't

Many specialize, most do not offer crates, to some BE doesn't matter

and I know several extremely successful Tailors who only make outfits and costumes..they do not even carry 'normal clothes'

Personally I can see your point. If there's one vendor I would like to see totally full, it's a tailor's vendor. Just the other day I was visiting the same tailor I have always been buying from since I started playing. I was wanting to make an outfit that was all black and white. This particular vendor had 10 of every item in many different colours. After a little searching, I was able to make the perfect outfit. Some tailors only make items on request, but this is not convenient. I hate waiting around for a response to my mail and then waiting for them to make it. Also, most tailors don't have every item on display, so being a non-tailor, I am only familiar with the most popular clothes. When all garments are up for sale on a vendor, I can see exactly what is available to me and can make the dicision myself about what I want to wear. Good for you Jaell for trying to make a good shop.

I'm also a tailor. And an architect. And I have been for almost two years now, I'm quite aware of the amount of schematics and colours I didn't mean to offend you, but what I mean is, I used to have a very very large shop selling just about everything in just about any colour someone would want. I sold perhaps 10% of my stock each month, and it wasn't worth it to me. It eventually led to my dropping the merchant profession entirely.

Then when I set up my second shop about three months ago (after a long time of only doing orders) I did things differently. I keep my clothing vendor at about 500 items, those items that sell the most, and I have a BE vendor which I can't keep stocked, people buy so much, a costume vendor which at most has 45 packs on it, and a four-socket vendor. Not to mention my two furniture vendors... But I watch sales, keep track of what does and doesn't sell, and stock only what I know will move. It saves me time, and I post a notice to all customers that I would be happy to do private fittings and orders, if they do not find what they want on my vendor.

Oftentimes if someone is looking for an "odd" or "unpopular" item, they know exactly what they want, and welcome the chance to have someone make it for them, rather than looking all over the galaxy to find it.

Now my business is booming, my stock is flying off the vendor, and I can devote my in-game time to helping customers rather than being a slave to my stockroom.

Why not offer at least some of your merchandise as outfits put together (in a backpack or whatever).

Floor models, pre-matched outfits, women love this. My gf was making me look at a damn magazine today saying that.

Its a chore to have to redo it but it keeps vendors that no one is ever on cleared out since once the stuff goes to the stockroom they get so much time before vendor goes poof. I hate going to empty vendors cause someone does restock it!

This is precisely the path I am going to take. I will have the more popular items available on my vendors, but I am currently building various costumes from the movies and putting display models of the outfits out for viewing. I will then sell the complete outfit in a backpack on my vendors for one lump sum. I am hoping this will work because it lets folks adopt a complete outfit that they may recall from the movies. There are a number of websites in the tailor forums that list suggestions for designing these outfits.

I am using the new Mustafarian Bunker and the bottom floor gallery (long room with a bar in the center) as it seems the best suited for such displays. I am only starting up at the moment so its hard to say if it will work effectively.

I agree that relisting items needs to be improved, its a long standing frustration of all crafters and I cannot think why they don't make a more friendly relisting UI for us. Relisting != Crafting content
