Thread: Vendor Catagory Lists and Missing Items

Is there a definitive answer on how the Vendor collects the names of items, and how they might be removed?

I went looking for Firespray discs on the Galactic Search, as I often do. They're listed normally under MISC > Generic Item as 'A Kuat Engineering Systems Schematic Fragment (#/8)'. Each one has its own catagory. When I went looking today, (1/8) was missing from the catagory view.

My question is this: Does the vendor system know what items exist in the game world and could it remove an item if there aren't any? Naritus is a relatively small sever, and it is feasible that there simply are no 1/8 discs anywhere on the server.

| Remove inactive player structures.
| Tailors should remove mods from looted clothing and add them to crafted clothing.
| Naritus.

Now I make ships and fly them.

I believe it does. I think itchecks after a server reset and only creates catagories for items that happen to be on a vendor at that time,then it createsnew ones when a new item is put for sale. That's why some items appear and disappear from time to time.

I might be wrong, but that's how I think it works.

I would agree with the create catigories at server start idea from what is for sell and possibly in stockrooms.

I know for a fact that it is not listing them from what is in the world
{I have a completed Auri Sculpture and routinely there is one missing on bazaar for parts}

Is this new? I remember seeing lots of categories with nothing in them - as recently as 2 days ago. Sometimes 4 identical categories with nothing in them (galaxy-wide bazaar search, and galaxy-wide vendor listings search)...

I think there are two 'listings' on the bazaar

ones always present and ones the do flux in and out

Likecapes and earrings..hello not ingame at all, always present

I use the auri scupture as a flux example because it is easy to spot, 4 peices on 3 listed, know for sure all four are in the world.

I do think it may have to do with stock room items, and what is in bags {as it does have to track what is IN the bag}

So i think alot are blank from 'should not even be on bazaar, not ingame' but more are blank from 'not visable sitting on vendor'

That make sense? if not no worries..most should know to ignore me

I think the 'parent' catagories are always there, like capes & eyewear, but the individual item catagories, like the aurillian statue only appear if there is one in the vendor system somewhere. It might be in the stockroom of someone's vendor which is why you cannot see any for sale anywhere, or like Ani said, in a backpack for storage.

I'd test the theory with my NS bicep (as I've NEVER seen it appear on the vendor listings) but I'm terrified of loosing it!

Thanks for your insight, folks.

I'll keep checking the Bazaar terminals and see if the Catagory returns. I haven't really logged in the last couple days since Shipwright crafting has been borked since P24 and now all my ships are trapped.
