Thread: Merchant XP Question/Clarification

Quick Question -
I realize I get 150 XP per hour/per merchant when the merchant when the mercant "loads from the server."
Does this mean that the XP is only added to my character when the merchant loads from the server. Example - I place my merchant at midnight. At 8 AM I log into my character again and notice no merchant XP. I visit the merchant (it loads) and 8 hours worth of XP is added to my charcter.

Does it mean I only get the hourly XP rate for an hour in which my merchant loads from the server? Example - I place my merchant and leave for 8 hours. During that period my merchant is visited 3 times in 3 different hours. So I would only get 3 hours worth of XP.

This one. Also remember that you don't get xp for server downtimes. So when the server reboots each day, you lose xp for whatever time it was down. People always forget this and think they are not getting enough xp.

The 3th option 
IF you place a vendor at might night and do not log in for 8 hours, age get 3 visitors in thoughts 3 hours the xp will be like this:
00:00 - Vendor placed and initialised. Merchant locks off and the house is unloaded from the world.
00:57 - First visitor comes and browse the vendor. As there have not passed an hour you do not get hourly XP. But 50 xp is granted for a player browsing the vendor.
00:59 - House is unloads and visitor leaves.
01:02 - 1st visitor com back because he forgot to pick up what he brought. The vendor now grants the 150 XP for the first hour. However, not another 50 XP for browsing as 10 minutes has not passed yet.
04:15 - 2nd visitor arrives. Vendor is loaded and the check confirm the 3 hourly xp ticks are have been missed, it give you 450 xp. When the customer browses the vendor, you get another 50 XP. The visitors buy nothing and leave.
06:30 - The 2nd visitor comes back with a friend, the 3rd visitor, Because he could not find a better deal elsewhere. The vendor is loaded and give the 300 xp for the two missed xp ticks. Then 50 Xp for visitor 2 and 10 minutes have passed since the last visit. And 50 Xp for visitor 3.
08:01 - Merchant lock back (outside the house) and se he have gotten a total of 1050 XP during the 8 hours. He then walks in to the house and the vendor is loaded. It the grand the last 300 xp for the two missed ticks. But not 50 xp when the merchant browses the vendor as he is the owner.
That is how it works to the best of my knowledge. Hope hat helps.

You get 50 XP for each player that browses any of you vendors. Weather the player browse 1 or 6 does not matter.
If you wand to maximise this part of you XP you should put enough items up for sale that it would take the player 10 minutes to browse each vendor (as it would grant the 10 min have passed since last browsing XP).

OK, another 2 hours since I first logged in today, and I've gained 50 exp points - I don't see to be getting any hourly experience at all? And I've been in the shop the whole time, and people have been coming and going.

Well I don't know what's going on here. I checked my merchant experience before downtime. Just got back on 8.5 hours later (7.5 game time) and with my 3 vendors in a busy mall, I seem to have gained only about 1000 experience.
In the 24 hours since I trained, and my experience went back to 0, I have gained 5500 experience, when according to my calculation for full time experience, let alone usage, I should have(150x3x23) = 10350 experience.
Can someone tell me, do you get experience if you browse your own vendors??

Well in the past we had to delete and replace vendors. You might want to try that. There is supposedly are fixing this in the next patch. Are you by chance near a server line?
