Is it usual for a merchant to be able to place a vendor in player cities they are not resident in? If so what is the going rate? I live in a quiet city on Talus (Chimera) and theres just not enough traffic to sell much. I guess I couldmove but I hate the crowded cities (more importantly my computer struggles). So does anyone have any suggestions for how I can place vendors in other location (especially reasonable rent rate)? I guess I need to check what the city tax rate is too.

Just ask around, especially if someplace has a mall that doesn't have one of your type of vendor. Also you can try setting up merchant tents on the outskirts of some of the busier npc cities.
