Thread: Empty Vendors should blow up your house

I am SOoooo tired of shopping for this or that and wondering from house to house and finding empty vendor after empty vendor. Although I blame hologrinding for screwing up the economy and professional continuity, I also suspect many of just trying to get Merchant experience by placing a bunch of vendors without intending to sell anything. I even found one vendor with a READ ME item that was blank to trick people into browsing further than just the top level vendor list.

Take down vendors you don't plan to keep stocked. Please!

Proposal:

Let's discourage all the player time-wasting by making vendors that stand empty for a week blow up and take the house with it!

Amen! That and deceptive names on vendors that don't sell the items they are named for. Nothing is more irritating than buying a shuttle ticket, finding the vendor only to discover it is an xp zombie. I make a point of looking at vendors that are named "look at me I need xp" or some such to help a person get out of the merchant profession asap.

This is not a new one... Last it was "All merchants with empty vendors should be shot ". So the following is a repost from that topic:
As a merchant, I would love it if there was some way for my positional customers to se if I had a certain item in stock BEFORE they came to my shop. Say throe a search function of some kind. However, such a system does not exist. Neither can I get unlimited resources and unlimited factory time, to make an unlimited amount of items to put up for sale.
I can understand why you find it annoying to go out to a vendor and find it empty, but it might not be the merchants fault. Epically with items that are hard to find, with thoughts hard to find items customers have a tendency to hamster when they find them.
Or perhaps it the vendor of a hologrinder who just wand the XP from you coming in to look. (Even more likely if you had to pay an entrance fee)

So, if you come here to help us get a solution to our common problem implemented... Welcome, maybe the devs will make this a priority if enough players put the spotlight on it.

Why couldn't we get a search option on bazaar for vendors around the area? That way we would be able to just go pick up what we buy or something, and maybe people would get to learn how to use the sorting...

buying Items from any vendor/bazaar anyBAZAAR in the universe use to be possible in beta for CUSTOMERS.

buying items from any vendor/bazaar via aVENDOR that you own'd use to be possible in beta for "VENDOR OWNERS".

both were removed for a reason i cant remmber but players use to:

-place a high entrace fee that caused you to not be able to enter the building to retrive your item, or had to pay a insane fee to retrive the item.

-make the building private so that you could not be able to enter the building.

-place a item on the other side of the doorway so you could not exit the building.

if you buy more than a certain amount and dont retrive it you cant buy anything else on any vendor, which is why the first reason became a problem.

vendors that dont have anything should simply not list them selfs on the world map or should automatically remove themself's if they dont have any stock.

Bleh I didn't think about that. Funny how it's always a few jerks that ruin the game for everyone else.

There is an easier solution... simply let player search all registries vendors, but do not let them buy an item, then they could get a waypoint to the vendor in question, and travel out there to buy the item.

Any holo merchant would simply put up a few 9.999.999 cr CDEF pistols, as they would not get bought the vendor would remain on the map.
