Ok, got a few ideas on upgrading sales etc on vendors and the bazaar, and personally Ive seen the proposed changes with the 6k limit and dont see them being worthwhile.
My Ideas:
: Premium Auction
: Make this Skill a useful one, at current one little star makes no difference to me when buying or selling.
: Make it a High up merchant skill, maybe Advertising IV or even Master Merchant (this would make the skill actually have a benifit other than just the protocol droid)
: Make Premium Auctions have NO LIMIT on the selling price on the bazaar. Currently all auctions are useless in the game, 3k, wow ive always wanted to sell my rare items for 3k when people want to bid higher :/ Also make the time limits able to be set, not everyone wants to wait a week to sell their items.
: Scrap any kind of limit on number of vendor items up for sale BUT
: Make both the Bazaar and Vendors much more searchable, I know you can narrow down categories, but how about being able to search for weapons of a certain certification, or a certain max damage range. How about being able to filter the resources down to more than current things, i mean inorganic minerals cover huge ranges of resources, how about searching for all resources cheaper than a certain cpu, or all Hides of an OQ of a certain range etc.
The bazaar is a GREAT system, but is far too jumbled at the minute. The only thing i see 'some' people may think wrong with my idea, is being able to filter the whole galaxies resources down to say 2 lots of 950+ OQ of a rare resource on 2 planets which you then go buy, no effort needed.
Well how about only allowing people to search items on the planet they are on?
::This next idea is a kind of parallel, but opposite (if that makes any sense) idea to the last.
::Merchant Terminals
: These are like bazaar Terminals but only able to be used by say Master Merchants (again i think this skill gives little benifits, apart from a satisfying title above your head).
: To be able to use one of these the Merchant places a special terminal in their Shop/house etc. from here the merchant controls what appears on the terminals in cities.
: A Master Merchant can list a limited number of items on these (5 or 10, not a lot anyway), there are no price restrictions, and they can be auctions. This could replace the idea i put up first about the premium auctions.
: The terminals are not location dependent, ie I see all the items in the galaxy (since generally master merchants are not hugely numerous in my experience i dont see this being a problem with the item limit. This also means that people see a good comparison of prices for the items for sale.
: Merchants can Register their Shops/Tents on this terminal, unlike the vendor registration (which while useful, isnt the easiest thing to get noticed with), there is a list of all shops in the galaxy (in the categories like weapons, armour etc) and a waypoint can be downloaded to the datapad with a simple click.
This means vendors on remote planets will not get forgotten about, and instead customers may travel to you, rather than you brining the merchandise as close to them as possible.
: Perhaps people able to look at what you have for sale, but able to buy it unless they go to you? (sceptical on this one myself, but would stop people travelling to a vendor to find it emtpy)
:: Vendor Droid Pets!
: Please make us able to have pets that act like automatic vendors!
: Make them have strict item limits say 30 items at most, and obviously only one per player out at one time.
: make them have time limits, ie I set my droid to be a vendor, they stand still, and cant move for 30 minutes or an hour etc. and the maintence is very high, say 2-3k a session the droid is used for.
: They work just like vendors in houses to every other player, but the items are only sellable when the vendor is set.
: Perhaps they can only be set inside buildings, so as not to clog the streets, maybe even just in cantinas?
Anyway, thats my ideas, I love being a merchant but i think it needs an upgrade. Hopefully someone agrees with some of my ideas.
